i think mine is 3 feet tall and if you don't have a climber i don't recommend getting one this tall, unless you yourself are tall and can reach over it without getting the top of the gate smashed into your stomach. LOL i don't know what i was thinking when i bought this thing but i would like a shorter one.

It is tall enough and sturdy enough to use outside and it won't rust and washes easliy with a hose if needed. I have several of these and highly recommend it!
Is this the same thing? Someone just told me about this in a pm. (Thanks!) Can two of these be put together? Would 26 inches be high enough?

This is JMO. I had one of those a few years back that was left outside. The hinges did rust (even though they are under plastic, water got into the middle) and the darn thing quit folding. As I said, this was a few years back...and they may have updated them since then. I'm sure that (possibly as much as 10 years ago) Also, it was outside all summer.

Our gold one that's around the pond has been up for over a year, almost two...we can still fold it up and take it with us. Just have to hose or brush the grass/dirt off. There aren't hinges per se, just connectors. So far, so good.

Deb, I was just looking back through and saw what you said on these. I'm not doubting you by any stretch. Just wondering if you've had any reason to leave yours outside for an extended period of time??? They are nice, and I did like how sturdy mine was:)

Yes its the same thing!! Great price at Walmart for it too. You can add panels very easliy and I don't see why 2 of them can't be put together. I have a 24 inch x-pen with a door and several if these at 26 inches and I find them plenty high enough. If you get them much higher its hard for you to climb in or out of so be careful going to high. since you also said your baby will never be outside unsupervised I say this should be exactally what you need.

No problem hun I am not taking offense to your questions or input at all. Thats whats so great about YT, we get to bounce ideas and concerns off each other.

I have never had a reason to leave mine outside for any stretch of time, but there have been a few camping trips where they got abit dirty and washed off easily.

That's definitely something to consider. It would be left outside more often than not. We don't have extreme temps in Waco, but we do get a lot of rain at times.

Shipping costs are something else to consider though. These are shipped to our local Walmart for free I believe. I think there is a considerable cost for the Target ones, but I have to go check. Our local Target might carry it since we have one of those Target Greatlands here.

Well, you've certainly gotten a lot of input on this thread. :) :)

I love that about YT too. I belong to another forum and it drives me nuts. I'll respond to a thread or start a new one, and sometimes days go by until there is any response. LOL, kind of kills the whole point of bringing something up. That NEVER happens around here. Sometimes I post just in time to see that what I said is already two or three posts back in the thread. Gotta love YT.

Can you expand that by putting two together? I didn't see an expansion kit listed as an accessory, so I wondered. That's a good price! thanks for the info. I just need to check the shipping costs and whether it can be expanded. :)

Hi everyone just caught this thread and you all have great ideas....Izzy has an x-pen but I keep it in our downstairs family room which I use for when we are at work, etc. She's little and not a jumper so the size we have is great. This one posted by hha looks great and has stakes to anchor it for when it's outside....I might get this one in spring and use that inside our fenced in yard for when people come in and out for gatherings (someone else posted this great idea in this thread...:D )....and the price on this one is pretty reasonable. Thanks!;)

Hi Judy, they said additionl two panels can be added, we do find that in the hexagon shape it is more sturdier, which they recommend setting it up like that, love, love ours, it is so handy and great. Our girls love them, I have the other one set up in another part of the house where I am sewing, these little gals love to grab at my foot on the sewing pedal LOL so in the play yard they go with all their toys and pillows, Baby Blessing and Dollie Dae share one and have plenty of room. They neither one can jump out of it. I have to climb over and get into Prairie Bea's with her occasionally, easy to do that as it isn't too tall. WE DO NOT USE THE SO CALLED GATE, I don't think it is easy to open and close, don't know why they even referr to that as a gate, it locks solid just like the rest of the panels. The instructions tell you how to fold and unfold it, It came folded and ready to use :) we paid for ours through a gift card which we bought at wal mart, makes it easier shopping through the wal mart.com that way. I posted pictures on a thread here in yt of ours set up,

the shipping price was awesome too..I paid over $70 for mine in town here, my son just got this one(same size as the one I have, and it was only $40 something with s&h
It\'s really nice..You get these little lock things with them, so, I would think you could put 2 together by clasping them..but, actually it opens up pretty big when you circle it..
