It's funny because I heard that yorkies have bad breath problems. I have not noticed stinky breath with any of mine. |
all toy breeds are very prone. But I'm sure there are some out there that don't have any problems. How old are your dogs? |
I'm sure all older dogs have some breath problems. Since he still has the bad breath after a teeth cleaning, must be the stomache causing it. What does the vet say the meds are for? Acid problems? I'm sure that would cause bad breath. Does she have him on a good food? I have seen some food, never tried it, that said for sensitive stomaches. Wonder if that would help at all? |
My Maltese has wonderful breath! Smells like roses. But my Yorkie use to have TERRIBLE breath until I started giving her eucalyptus bones. Now her breath is fresh and yummy. :D :p |
1 Attachment(s) This is the only complaint I have about Chloe. She climbs and has the balance of a monkey. She can not be contained, only in her crate. I find her in the strangest places, higher the better. This is where she naps. I often find her on the kitchen table and she can scale a gate of any height. She has never attempted to climb outside, only in the house when I am trying to gather all the dogs into the kitchen or something. When I find her in a new high spot, she looks at me like "look what I did, ain't it great!" |
Sampson's breath is as sweet as a baby's breath. He is six months old. I brush his teeth everyday. |
Yea, I would also say it is a tooth or gum problem. My vet also said Yorkies are bad for bad teeth--many needing them pulled later in life because of desease. Said to be sure and give her dental chews and brush her teeth every day. I would think a Maltese would be the same. Although my mom had a little 3# one, and never brushed lher teeth and she was fine. I had a Pomerian that was horrible! No one could get close to her because of the bad breath! Pat |
