| Hi Newbie Questions Hi, I just put a deposit down yesterday on our 1st yorkie and 1st animal that Ive ever had in the house. Weve picked a girl and were pretty sure were going with Blossom for her name. I just want you guys to give me any advice or anything you think I should know before I get her. I have about 2 or 3 weeks before I can bring her home and have been doing research for a while now. TIA |

| 1st Welcome to YT!!! 1. get her toys and a warm blanket, esp. now that it's almost winter time (maybe also PJ's?) 2. Don't get frustrated with potty training her... it might take a while... but it can be done 3.play with her and give her lots of love and cuddles!!! 4. they are very loving and loyal little furbabies... so enjoy her!!! -- 5. and sometimes she might do something that makes you upset with her... but remember training takes time, so be patient with her... 6. Esp. smaller doggies are prone to hypoglicemia (low blood sugar) they'll become listless and tired, white-ish gums... so make sure that you have some nutri-cal on hand, just out a little bit on your finger and she'll lick it off... 7. Spoil her!!! [just a little ] Congrats! and good luck! hope this helps! and post pics of her when you get her we love pics!

| Welcome and what a pretty name. Do you check out the breeder to make sure their reputable? Don't want to get a baby with problems.

| My local vet was the person who referred me to this breeder. I ask her if her dogs had ever had any major health problem such as the liver shunt (sp this is all so new) etc... and she said no. She has both the parents one is dad is 6 and mother is 7 and she said this was her 4th litter. Hopefully she is honest. As for potty training all her puppies are already using a puppy pad for peeing and will be seven weeks old Wednesday. Hopefully I made a good choice. |
