| bad vets In some areas of the country you don't have much of a choice... bad... worse... or put your dog down kinda guy. My mom had a pom a poo that fit in her pocket. It got sick one night... she rushed it to the vet by our house and she said it was just one of those yapping complaining little dogs (she is a greyhound rescuers...likes big dogs) and told my mom it just needed a shot to settle it's stomach. My mom took Garth home and he was dead in 5min of leaving the vets. hmmm... we always knew she punctured something w/ the shot. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | The animal er where I seem to frequent alot has one male vet that I say one time when Cali was sick, acting strange, walking weird, but it wasn't hypoglycemia, thought she may have gotten a pill on my parents floor . I could tell this vet was thinking well what do you expect when you but these little sickly dogs. I decided to take her home with me instead of leaving her with him. I ended up taking her back at 2 in the morning and he was off duty. The next time I was there I asked which vets were on and they said this vet and another one was coming on soon, so I waited 1 1/2 hours. I told the receptionist that I felt this dr didn't like small dogs. The next time I had to go there I had to rush Pixie in for falling over and some neurological looking signs. I couldn't wait to have her seen so this vet came in and he couldn't have been nicer. I know they told him what I had said. He said to me, you look familiar weren't you just in here ? I know he knew exactly who I was. I don't usually speak up but when it comes to my babies I will.

| Oh that is so scary. You would think that someone who spent so much time and worked so hard to become a vet would be a true animal love and would be incapable of harming one. I have a friend who has a Pit. This was her first dog and when Bella was 8 wks my friend took her to the vet for the first time. The vet was really against Pits and kept telling her how they can turn on you and she has to be firm which I know with any large dog you have to be firm and really establish boundaries but he was really worked up about it and really lecturing her. Well I know everyone has different opinions about Pits and I personally wouldn't want one although my friend now has 2 and they are very sweet and well behaved. Anyway the vet was being very rough with Bella (a little 8 wk old puppy- not exactly a terrifying dog) and Bella was so scared- she could sense that the vet was angry and didn't like her. Out of nowhere he snatched her paw to clip her nails and out of fear she snapped a little. She didn't bite or even put her mouth on him. He knocked her across her head! He told my friend, see this is exactly what I'm talking about and if I report her she'll be put down. My friend was crying and was just terrified. She never went back to that vet of course but she was too scared to complain about him out of fear of what he would right on Bella's chart or reporting her and making something up. Very sick!
