My SIL told me a reply for controversial/idiotic remarks that she learned in a psychology class and uses it often with great results. Simply, seriously look at them and say, "You know? You are probably right". What can they say to that!!?

so funny, this reminds me of several years ago when I took my 3 1/2 pound chihuahua to the vet for his shots. He was a rescue, so I don't know what kind of life he had before. He loved everyone BUT the vet. While I was waiting to be called to the examining room, an elderly man with a shepard commented about my chi's name being Rocky. His name was Rocky because we tried several names and he answered to it immediately, I guess it was close to what his name was before. He just kept making comments like "that is a lot of name for no dog". Being a quiet person I just didn't say anything. I let him sit there with his big tough dog that was leaning on him making comments, all I said was his name suits him fine. When the vet assistant came to the doorway to call me she had a muzzle in her hands and asked if I wouldn't mind putting it on him. I just couldn't help but laugh and say "I told you so". (What I didn't say was that he was in such a horrible shape from the shelter, so skinny and full of mange plus I had just got him so I was still practically a stranger to him. He would fight so hard and try to jump off the table that we were afraid he would hurt himself. After several attempts we discovered that a muzzle even though we kept it so loose that it almost hung off of him, he still thought he couldn't move. It enabled the vet to check him completely to make sure he was healing properly)

My godfather is like this.. He thinks he is funny and I want to say something Smartass back.. But I just say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Or I tell the dog see people like this have that gene I told you about..and then I laugh.. it makes them wonder WHAT GENE.... I tell them "He will only attack if I give him the command!" Most of the comments are good natured. I think they are stunned by how tiny he is, and how adorable!

I just don't understand people, I was the other day in the pet-store and this guy was behind me and said oh look ankle bitters, I ignore him and then he said it again and I told him that my yorkies aren't ankle bitters we don't allow those kind of behaviors in my house, you should see his face he din't know what to say after that. Next time just tell him oh boy I can't imagine in what kind of deplorable condition you live that you have seen rats this big and walk away don't even give him the chance to answer

Wow that surely was a fleshly moment there from me, the devil sure know what button to push it just make me so mad when someone have somenthing negative to say to our little babies, they just don't know how precious our little yorkies are
