| Welcome to YT! Mine also love TP, especially Pinky. Potty training is difficult for Yorkies be patient and know that they do not have enough bladder control until about 4 months old. It take lots of patience and practice while teaching them. Charmin is a such a cute name. Good luck to you.

| First, welcome to YT! I love the name Charmin! Ginger is my TP eater. No, she does not run around the house spreading tp like so many others, she just grabs as big a chunk as she can and eats, eats, eats. She has been known to devour an entire roll of tp in moments...so you can imagine our need to tp proof our house. Not just tp, paper towels, napkins, etc. We've had to replace all of our trashcans with lidded ones. The metal ones are great and have heavy lids. We've had to remove all of our toilet paper rolls from the wall holders. Ours are stacked in decorative containers (the kind you usually use for the "extra" rolls). Our containers must have the lids on tight. She's learned to balance on her hind legs and suck a roll of tp out withOUT tipping the holder. When we visit family they all know to keep their bathroom doors closed. When people visit us, we hang their coats and ask them to set their purses, etc., up. She's been known to sneak a tissue out of a visitors purse. I've tried everything I can think of, everything my trainer could think of. She's just a toilet paper hound. So, I hope that your little one, like so many others, grows out of it. If not, you'll at least know you aren't alone. Good luck!

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | another suggestion When Morgan was a puppy she used to shred paper that she found on the floor. So i set her up. I took a bunch of papers of all different sizes and sprayed them with bitter apple. Then i "accidentally" let them fall off the table. Morgan dove for it, picked it up, and immediately spit it out. We did this a few times and she learned real quick not to pick up things off the floor or eat paper anymore.

| oookkkkk..... thank you all very very much for all the fun and helpful feedback!!! ok so it is not nasty to leave tp in the trash can....thats what the bath room trash cans are made for...... but the nasty paper gets flushed and the other goes in the can...not a huge deal! i will not puppy prof my life for a baby dog. i love her and i put things u that will hurt her or make her sick but other than that she will just learn the rules and the rules include staying out of the trash can. but incase some of you dont know this if your home is on a septic tank you CANNOT flushanything that is not a body fuction down the toilet or the septic tank will back up into your yard and trust me that is WAY more eewwww that putting the tp in the trash can! |
