| Any suggestions? Lucy has become obbsessed with us. First of all Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!!! Lucy has become really possessive lately to the extreme that tonight she tried to bit an 8 month old baby I was holding. She's never been around a small baby so I'm trying to excuse it a little. But lately my husband and I can't even touch one another and shes screaming!!! I quess what shocks us so much is she is the most loving, cuddling, sweetiest thing you could meet. But like I said lately she can't stand us to touch one another and most definately not anyone else to touch us. Could someone help me with any suggestions. She just turned a year old last month. And up until tonight she has never ever tried to bit anyone. I'm still sitting here in shock. Thanks and sorry this was so long. Cyndi

| Sounds like you need to take back as being the pack leader. I wish you luck, maybe someone else can help. Good luck

| We're going through this stage with Maddie...very posessive and selfish over me...not Brandon though...just me. If she's in my lap and another dog approaches to see me she bites them in the neck. She gets a tap on the nose (NOT a smack or a hit...just a tap to startle) or a loud noise. This lets them know you saw the behavior and don't accept it. This is the first time I've ever seen her so protective of me...but I think this is the phase they go through when they're really clingy. Don't let her get away with the behavior...either ignore or startle her. Whenever she starts again, you startle again. Then when she is able to sit quietly for say...a minute at first...without screaming or biting, you give her a small treat. It's simple Pavlov...they'll eventually learn NOT to do it. |

| I scolded her first in firm voice and then put her in time out. She knows when I put her in time out that she is in trouble. She is normally very well behaved. But tonight she has not been herself. I quess I'm just shocked that she would bit anyone. She has never done that before. I know she has become very jealous and we are working on that. Thanks alot.

| I think you have to distinguish yourselves as the Alpa's. Time out for poor behavior would be a good deterent to her behavior.
