In my case i had the opposite situation...

I went in wanting a boy, (had a name picked out and all) by the time i called the breeder he only had the girl left... i said i'd take a look, even though i really wanted a boy... but as i saw Belle, i knew i had to take her home

I got a boy first then a girl. I know I really wanted a girl to dress up. When we got chachi we knew we were going to be buying a girl from her also. It really worked out for us because chachi is a daddys boy and Jewels is a mommys girl

I grew up with girl dogs so that's why I chose a female yorkie. My Mum was a huge influence with this, she prefers girl dogs simply because our dogs have mostly been inside dogs and the whole leg lifting thing is an issue she didn't want to have to deal with. I have had one boy dog in my life, so I'm not against them, I just prefer girls.

For me it has nothing to do with dressing them up in frilly things, I don't dress Suzy in anything but coats for warmth or keeping her hair from getting matted.

I will be getting a male Yorkie at some point in the future.

I wanted a girl because if they have an accident they squat and little boys lift their legs. lol

Humm, my boy is 2 1/2, he actually gets in the middle of the piddle pad, it's the girls of mine that get too close to the edge and make a mess

I will always pick a female over a male. I guess its my personal preference.(ok, I think girls are more intelligent than boys!!LOL) In my experience as a breeder, most people want a female because they want the kids to experience the joy of having a litter. Or they only want to breed her once as it will make her a better dog. Or they want to re-coop the $$ spent when they bought her. Well,for me, that goes over like a lead balloon!!! Sometimes I wonder where are all the wonderful families that only want a pet to enjoy forever?? The people who dont care if its a boy or a girl. Seems like they are far and few between.

I love little boy yorkies!!! They are so sweet...I don't know why more people don't want boys!! If trained from an early age and if neutered by 6 months, they don't tend to mark or hump...

We got a girl because 1) we wanted to dress her up in cute bows and stuff and we have always had girls dogs. And my mom knew that boys tend to mark so that's why we got a girl! and it was a good thing too.. the litter we bought from was ALL girls!

Like I've said..there are a lot of things that are instilled in us when we're young(females vs males)..My sons female golden retriever was really going to town with my female shepherd the other day..they're both fixed..My female shih tzu lifts her leg all over the back yard(the whole acre)marking..the only thing Fritz lifts his leg on is one certain bush and the tree, but, when he's in the house on his pee pad, he gets in the middle of it, stands with a little bend and gets right in the middle everytime..he's the most affectionate of the 4 inside dogs I have(the other 3 are girls)..I had originally planned on getting a male this time, I had him picked out, it ended up to where I got the boy, and his sister..my hubby likes giving belly rubs, and so he's able to rub bellies and watch t.v., he prefers the girls, so, needless to say, my son(who wanted a male), has my little male, and we've got the female..but, I have the best of both worlds, I get to babysit my little grandpup every Tuesday..
