| Have you ever been scammed? As you all know, I am selling Oreo and well someone just emailed about more info on Oreo. We talked on the phone and he said he was interested in him, I said I would like to meet him in person and to come over to meet Oreo to see if there was even a connection. Well he said how much I want for him, I told him the price and he asked me if I would take a check My girlfriend said not to, do you think I can get scamed??

| I mean it's possible with anything you sell. I personally don't like taking checks. If they have the money to write a check then they can just as easily go to the bank and get it. I'd just be sure to write him a receipt.

| I have been scammed before but it was a very small amount I think anyone can get scammed even if you are trying to be careful I wouldn't take a check from anyone I didn't know. If you do decided to take a check I would wait till monday when the banks will be open I would then call the bank to verify the available funds and go directly to the bank and cash it as soon as the person leaves.

| I wouldn't take a personal check... ask him to get a certified check from the bank or a money order. |

| He can give you a check and then you tell him you will give him the puppy after you do a background check on him. and this will give you a chance to clear his check. Call his vet, call animal control to see if they know anything about him. Who is the landlord? Lots of questions to ask.

| Do NOT take a check. If he likes the puppy offer to hold him till he can get to the bank(a day or two). There are too many dishonest people out there.

| It's always a gamble taking a check. If it makes you uncomfortable, I say no, don't accept the check, ask for cash only. I watch the daytime judge shows, too many people get burned that way! |

| The little biewer I got back in July, I wrote a check for, as we met on a Sunday, and I couldn't go to the bank...I wrote it out, then the next day, i went and pulled it out of the money market...that breeder had never met me, but we had talked ALOT and I think she knew she could trust me..I couldn't live with myself if I wrote a bad check.. |

| If he's serious and you explain you know, I just need to be careful I'd prefer a money order or cashiers check, he'll totally understand and not be offended and should be willing to accomodate you. If you do take a check, tell him you need 7 to 10 days for the check to clear. ????
