20 years ago hubby owned his own trucking company and was away from home a lot. He was in New York one day on his cb radio talking about how his wife wanted a small (white)dog for company. He ended up through conversations finding a 1 yr old yorkie male for sale. Benji(his name at the time), was an hours drive from us and I had no idea what a yorkie was or looked like. We drove in the yard and there was this little dog tied to a tree with a huge chain dangling around his neck. I picked him up ,he chewed my earring outta my ear, kissed me to pieces and it was instant love. Kenji was my best friend and lived to be 18, I still miss and think about him everyday.

Our second yorkie Kassie came because we thought Kenji needed company after our german shephard passed. We had pick of the litter when they were three weeks old and tied a pink ribbon around the one we wanted. The day we went to bring her home I changed my mind at the last minute and took Kass instead. Because she has been such a handful in so many ways my husband never stops teasing me how I picked her at the last minute.

I fell in love with mine the minute I saw each of them. They were just so sweet, and the breeders were well informed, and willing to answer all my questions.

Ok... so i had been wanting a Yorkie (boy) for like a year and a half, maybe more... and i looked everywhere... i finally found a breeder... he told me over the phone that he only had a girl left... i told him that i wanted a boy, he just said, come look at her, boys are more territorial you're better off with a girl... so i said, alrite, i'll come by tomorrow... i did, and at first i thought she wasn't all that cute... (shhh) but i stuck around and played with her and the more i played the more i wanted her, so my mom was going to buy her for me, i didn't have cash on me or anything else for that matter, he told me that if i was serious about getting her, he could hold her for a $50 deposit, so i cut him a check , and he called the other people who were coming to see her told them she was sold... so i made payments on her (still doing so) she was $850 total... but she's the best purchase we ever made... i don't know if i would go back to that breeder... but she's been healthy the whole time i've had her... i saw the parents and they looked good, the only thing that makes me iffy about him is i got belle at about 9 or 10 weeks old, the ad was placed when the pups were 8 wks... but he did follow up with me for weeks after the purchase to make sure everything was ok... and he told me which vet to go to since i was new in the area... and we've been happy ever since, Belle stands at a Pawsome 7 pounds 2 ounces and super healthy and oh so loving and cuddly

I really dont know how they could leave him tied outside like that let alone with that seriously huge chain dangling off his neck. They had three small children and should have never gotten the dog to begin with but their aunt was a breeder and gave it to them????? Kenji had the worst seperation anxiety right up until we had to put him down and it was little wonder as to why. He was the bestest little love bug and we were the lucky ones to have found him.

Once they knew i wanted him the price went up three times by 100.00, we paid it no questions asked we just knew we had to have him

My Mom & Dad gave me my first yorkie for my 21st birthday, 30 years ago,but I got married a few months later and she had become so attached to my Mom I left her there when I moved out. We then had three little dogs along the way, each very special and when the last one passed away I decided I wanted another Yorkie as I had always wanted another.
After lots of searching I found a good breeder and went to look at her litter. Coco chose us! And she was born on my birthday - so we couldn't resist. We brought our bundle of joy home that same day. After a couple of months we decided she needed a sibling so phoned her breeder who didn't have puppies but knew someone who did. This breeder brought two brothers to our house for us to look at... Coco chose Coffee... they are actually 2nd cousins They love each other dearly and so do we

I had to say goodbye to my first Yorkie girl in may this year after 14 years together and it broke my heart. I knew i wanted another little girl and started looking a few weeks later. I found a good breeder not too far from me and contacted her, she told me when she had a litter due so i was waiting for this litter to be born in the hope that my next baby girl would be one of them. A few weeks later i come across the same breeder advertising one tiny bitch puppy as she was going to be too small to show/breed and my heart leaped...I emailed her straight away asking if this little baby was still available and thinking that she had probably been snapped up by someone...and she was! as soon as i saw pictures of her i knew i had to have her and she gave me something to look forward to again. I will never forget how i felt when she was put into my arms for the first time...it was the most wonderful feeling and i wish i could replay that moment over and over again, she's been with me over 2 months now and i still can't believe she is mine!

Easy... she was the last one! She was just waiting for me to go get her!

My parents got her for me towards the end of last year. I moved out in the November and after about 4wks I decided I couldn't live without a dog and we had ALWAYS had Yorkie's in the house... there was Yorkie's there before I was born! I was going to get a rescue but then my parents said they would get me a Yorkie instead and it was going to be my Christmas and Birthday present! I saw both her parents even though I didn't see any of the other puppies from the litter. She was just trotting around in the room she was in with her mother and after my Dad checked her over to make sure she was healthy I was told I could have her if I didn't want to go see anymore. All the way back in the car she laid on my chest in a blanket and kept looking up at me with a curious look on her face while I was trying out names. It was actually my BF who suggested her name and it suits her perfectly!!!

Love

I had raised Bichons - fell in love with them for that sweet lion face, but always thought someday I would like to have a yorkie. When my last Bichon passed, I was broken hearted & not ready for another furbaby in my heart & I was a busy, busy single mom. One of the places I was always taking my daughter was the dance studio & a couple yrs after I had been without a dog, my daughter's dance teacher got 2 of the sweetest little yorkie puppies & would sometimes bring them to the studio for the secretary to watch in the office while she taught dance.

I was always trying to steal a look at those sweet faces, but the secretary was so protective of those pups, because the 800-plus little dancers all wanted to drool over the puppies. Well, about a yr went by & one day my daughter said the dance teacher was trying to find a new home for her yorkies.

I'm like "What?? Why??" Seems the dance teacher's new baby was taking up so much time & the sweet little girl yorkie was a bit jealous of the baby. My daughter goes on to tell me, the dance teacher had been telling them this for a couple months -- I'm like, "Why are you just now telling me this??" We were in the car on the way home from the studio, as soon as we got home I called the teacher & said, I'll take them!!

Then I got all hesitant, because I had never had anything but puppies. What if they didn't adjust well? What if the dance teacher changes her mind & wants them back? I went one night to see them at her dad's house (where they went once they got older & she was teaching dance.) The dogs weren't quite sure about me. But everyone said they will adjust. I brought them home & they immediately started acting like they had lived with me forever.

They had to keep their original names since, we would continue a relationship with the original owner They still see her & often go stay with her parents when I travel. Bubba even was the perfect casting for Toto one yr for dance recital!

They are spoiled rotten with me & have stolen my heart & my bank acct.

My mom and dad got a yorkie, Liberty, and I just had to have one. I had to find the one that was right for me. After over 6 months of looking, I found Conner on line. He had the sassy personality I was looking for - and boy is he sassy. Below are the picturres that were online and there is also a pic of Conner in my husband's hat (which was his favorite place to sleep when he was tiny. He is now my little teapot.

I had been looking for a Yorkie for quite some time everywhere here. Newpapers, online, word of mouth and I could find we ones that we so questionable to me. So I quit looking for a few months. I was working night at the time at a nursing home and during my lunch all alone I started reading the newspaper and what did I come across???? An ad for AKC registered yorkies 10 miles from where I lived. It was like 2 am in the morning and I had that peice of news paper with me the rest of the night.

I went home and woke up my husband at 6:30 am and told him that I think that I had found the one. I just had this feeling about it. To be polite I waited until 10am and called on the dot. They said I could come over right then and see them. I was so excited almost on the verge of tears.

We drove over there and played with all of them. They had both parents and even an older yorkie that they had for 15 years all on top of 5 beautiful puppies. They we all just so perfect. I played with all of them and they set one on my lap, they named her Minnie Pearl, and she looked down at the other puppies crossed her front paws. One over the other as if she was saying this is my mommy and what I say goes.

I knew from that moment that she had to be mine. I wrote a check for the deposit and came back every week until they were ready to come home. The day that I brought her home was the happiest day of my life. I could not think of a name for her so I left that up to my nursing home residents. They named her after me. Tinkerbell. She is my perfect little angel no matter what she does and she has been with me through thick and thin. I don't know what I would ever do with out her.

I love these stories. Keep them coming.

I didn't pick out Sadie...she picked me! I was actually torn between Sadie and her sister. I had finally made my decision and, Sadie was not the one..When I was about to leave she walked over to me, sat on my foot and just looked up at me...That's all it took.

I wanted another female and Lillie was the only female to survive. She probably would have been the one I chose anyway. She has the sweetest personality and the prettiest little face and full of spunk!

Default Scruffy

This is gonna be super long - so Please bear with me.
I had wanted to get a Yorkie for a few years But decided to wait because I had a sickly 11 yr old Pom at home & didn't want to bring a lively puppy home to aggrevate her.
BUT I had been stopping at the Pet store every time I would see Yorkies on the sign & they were always sold & gone when I got there. this went on for about 6 months.

My Pom Rakki had hip surgery on her 1st birthday & by the time she was 10 yrs old she couldn't walk at all, she also had bulging disk in her neck. Well she started to get sick, skinny, stopped eating & diareah. I fought alot with the idea to put her to sleep, I said i could never do that. But finally one day, I couldn't watch her suffer & called my good friend at the Vet. She helped me with my struggles to put her to sleep. You have to remember this is my best lil friend ever, always at my side no matter what I was doing. It broke my heart to do this. I still cry about this decision I made.

Well - on Saturday morning we put my baby to sleep, buired her in the back yard with my other Pom who lived to 18 yrs old.
That same day at 5:30 pm I called the pet store just for the hell of it & was told we have a lil boy yorkie - I wanted a girl - But he said he is the cutest Yorkie we have ever had.
Sunday I decided to go to see him when they opened at 1 pm.
He was not there - I freaked out - the owner said they must have sold him the night before.
So He called the breeder & was told she had took him home last night & was on the way back to the store with him.
She came in, I saw him & fell in love. She asked if I wanted to hold him & I said no, if I hold him I won't give him back & I really want a girl!
I couldn't resist & grabbed him out of her hands.

He is so special to me - He helped me through the hardest time in my life - having to put my lil Rakki to sleep.
Well I have 4 Yorkies now & I love every one of them equally BUT Scruffy is so special to me!!!
Here is a pic of Scruffy at 6 1/2 wks old & a pic now at 2 1/2 yrs old
