| A beautiful heartwarming story I just felt like I had to tell you all about my weekend. As many of you know, I am a teddy bear artist. Well this last weekend, I did a local arts and show that features high end home made gifts and home decor. Anyway, I had lots of teddy bears at the show, and I had one yorkie. I had made this yorkie when Rainbow was about 12 weeks old and named it after her because it looked so much like her. I had it listed for sale at one time, but since then I have just hung on to it because I really didn't care if it sold or not because it was special to me. Well I took it to the show with me and it was a huge hit. Everyone loved it,, but no one bought it.. you know how that works. Well Saturday afternoon, a lady came by wheeling her mother in a wheelchair. As they were going by my table, the mother glanced over and grabbed the table to stop the wheelchair and pointed to the yorkie. She picked it up and when she did, she brushed against the button on the tummy and the yorkie started to bark. Her face lit up! As she sat there holding the yorkie, she started telling me that she was 85 years old and had a yorkie that passed away recently. She said she wanted another one so much, but she couldn't have one in the nursing home. As I talked to her and her daughter, she finally looked up at her daughter and said, I just wonder if I have enough in my account to buy something for me?" And I just wonder if it would be wrong for me to spend it on something just for me?" Her daughter looked at her and smiled and said,"Mama, you have more than enough and you can buy yourself whatever you want. You deserve that". Well, when she asked the price I told her $145. (the actual price was $250) Well she bought it and I watched her as her daughter wheeled her around the rest of the show. After she left, I had several people come by my table and say how they had seen her with the yorkie and how happy she looked and she showed everyone she could. On Sunday, her daughter came to the show by herself and told me that her Mother was thrilled with the yorkie. She said she was the "hit" of the nursing home and everyone wanted to hear it bark and they all wanted to touch it and pet it. She said her mother wouldn't let it out of her sight. She said she had not seen her Mother so happy since she had to go into the nursing home. Everyone there made such a big deal out of it and it just made her day! And mine as well! I KNOW how it is there because that is the same place my Mom was before we lost her 2 years ago. So how was your weekend? Sonya PS.. has anyone else noticed that the spell checker doesnt recognize the word, "yorkie"? lol

| What a beautiful story. You are so blessed to have been a part of this. My mother is in a nursing home , and she has altseimers. What I wouldn't give to find something that could reach her and make her smile. Thank you for the beautiful images I have in my head tonight.

Your "yorkie" with your real yorkie picture is cute. We have a stuffed yorkie here....that mine try to "kill" any chance they get.
