Boarding or Sitter? Please help! My boyfriend is taking me on a nice weekend getaway to Niagra Falls this weekend. He wanted us to go from Friday-Sunday but I couldn't be away from my little Mocha for that long, so we're only going Saturday-Sunday. I thought about boarding him at our vet's. I really hate to do it, but I feel that it may be the only choice. Mocha has grown extremely attached to me. When he's being held by anyone else (including my family), he freaks out after 10 or 15 minutes and wants to go find me. He calms right down as soon as I hold him. I'm worried about my family not being able to sleep because of his crying/barking when I'm gone. I would love to be able to find a nice Yorkie sitter from YT, but I'm scared that Mocha's crying might be too much for them. Has anyone here boarded their babies before? Was it a good/neutral/bad experience? Or do you prefer bringing them to a sitter? Any advice would be great, thanks in advance!

I noticed that a lot of groomers offer boarding services too. Mocha doesn't have a groomer yet though, so I wouldn't know which would be a good or bad place. I'm so worried to leave him, because he's so tiny...I just want him to be handled well.

Aww don't you hate leaving them behind? My parents live in Hawaii and I hate not being able to take the yorkies with me. The law for bring in any living thing to Hawaii is strict so I don't even bother. Back to your question, maybe someone here lives in your town and can make a recommendation of a particular respectable boarding place or sitter. It is always better to get a good referral. I personally like sitters since they are able to give more of the one on one attention. Gives you a peace of mind. Good luck!!
