| Anyone tried the new flea/tick preventive? My vet is suggesting I try Pro-meris. It's a new preventive that is just being made available to vets this fall. My vet is expecting it in this week. It is supposted to last up to 6 weeks instead of 4. Has anyone heard good or bad about this product? I certainly don't want my babies to be guinea pigs!

| I'm in vet school and we had a meeting where a rep came to talk to us about Promeris. Everything about it sounded good to me. It uses a new active ingredient so fleas shouldn't be immune to it, and it's supposed to be effective longer than advantage and frontline (closer to 45 days). We're supposed to be getting free Promeris for attending the meeting sometime this month so I'll get to try it then.

| I am so glad I clicked this! I am having a horrible time w/fleas on my babies. I haven't seen many -- but even after using Advantage, I will still see one here or there and I am beyond stressing over it. |

| I posted here about ProMeris but I can't find it. Maybe it got deleted? One woman with 7 dogs (larger dogs) used it and all 7 dogs got very ill and had to go to the vet. 3 had to stay overnight with IV's and stuff. The woman got sick too and was taken to the emergency room. Her vet pulled it from his shelves and contacted the manufacturer. I wouldn't touch it!!! |

| We were at our 4-h meeting today and they told us about this and that it is not good. Lots of stories of dogs getting really sick. I will not use it.

| I will stick to my advantage. I'm not caring to try anything new in fear it might make my babys sick.

YT 2000 Club Member | I've seen commercials for it on TV but I've always used Advantage on our furbutts and have never had any problems with it. My theory is, if it aint broke, don't fix it. I don't use Advantage over the winter months either, but since the weather is starting to head into the warmer temps, I'll be starting our furbutts back on the Advantage.

| I have used it on Lacy, Rylie, and my two cats with no issues. The one thing I didn't like was the residue it left on the hair like frontline does. But no negative side effects at all.
