| ...well she cries and shakes alot, its probably just because she's scared right? Is she crying all the time, day and night? Or just at night? I would say that's abnormal if it's happening all the time. If it's at night, she probably just misses her littermates, and maybe you should snuggler her when she is. ...how long, do you guys think, before she will get use to being with me. As far as what??? What do you mean, "get used to"? ...oh and she sleeps alot. thats okai right? Sleeping a lot is typical for a puppy. How old is she? ...how long will it take before she gets house trained This takes a long time with ANY puppy and yorkies take notoriously LONGER than usual, so patience is a must and you cannot get frustrated. That's what comes with owning a dog...a lifelong commitment ...how often should i bathe her You can give her a bath once a week or every other week, but depending on how old she is, you may want to wait till she's at least 10-12 weeks ??? ...and she doesnt like her toys very much.. any advice? I wouldn't be too concerned about that. She'll play if she's ready. You need to make sure she is loved and you are working with her on the pottying and bonding with her. Welcome to YT...can't wait to see pics of your puppy and hear more about her

As for the shaking... Is it like she's cold or scared? If she seems chilly make sure she has blankets to snuggle in and get her a sweater. House taining??? Hmmmm.... depends on you! Stay diligent, on schedule (before nap, after waking, after eating) being consistant is the key! Bathing... I give my girls a bath evey 2 weeks but some people give them more often. Super important to get her used to the blow drier before you give her the first bath. Take her to the bathroom with you and turn on the drier but not near her to get her used to the sound and the blowing wind. You ALWAYS want to blow dry a puppy so they don't get cold. They are so small, that even indoors, they can get hypothermia. The puppy is still young and doesn't have a sense of toys if they are tossed away from them or if the toy is too far away. Try putting the toy on the floor and tease her with it by moving it back and forth in front of her and tickling her with it. - Puppies usually likes the softer stuffed animal type of toys more than the plastic or latex toys. It will all come in time! Congratulations on your first Yorkie!

| Welcome to YT! I hope these answers help ...well she cries and shakes alot, its probably just because she's scared right? she's probably just scared and nervous because she's in a new unfamiliar place ...how long, do you guys think, before she will get use to being with me. after a few days your pup should be adjusted to the environment ...oh and she sleeps alot. thats okai right? puppies sleep a lot ...how long will it take before she gets house trained depends on how you train your pup and how consistent you are with them when training ...how often should i bathe her probably once a week ...and she doesnt like her toys very much.. any advice? she'll play with the toys when she's ready Best of luck to you and your fur baby!

| Congratulations on your first Yorkie! We have loved every minute that we have had Bella (she is almost 5 months). We are new owners too, so I don't have a lot of advice. How old is your sweetie? Be sure to post pictures! We love to see cute Yorkies? About the shaking--be sure she isn't cold---put her in some pajamas or a sweater. Be sure she isn't hypoglycemic--which can happen in puppies. How is she eating? Bella is working hard on her potty training, but still has accidents--mostly when I am not paying attention to how long it has been. Bella loves her toys, but I'm sure yours will too when she gets comfortable with her surroundings. I would just say---love her tons and tons. She is a baby and needs lots of attention and love. Also, tons of patience. Right now, Bella is curled up with my 10 year old and both of them couldn't be happier. Yorkies bring tons and tons of joy and deserve all the love in the world. Enjoy your sweet furbaby and everything will fall into place with consistence and patience! Can't wait to see pictures!

| Glad you found us! You have already received many wonderful responses. This is a great place to learn about yorkies! Just a couple things to add - the reason you may want to put clothes on your baby is that yorkies have hair not fur like other animals & often need help keeping their heat in. Also, not sure what method you are using for housebreaking you may want to consider crate training - one of the most successful ways to work with a puppy

YT 3000 Club Member | when they are in a new space and away from mom, they are like babies sleep alot and they are scared, and gradually after a little while get her used to noises and socialize her well after she has most of her shots. I would take chester to petsmart and around people, kids and other dogs. I would take her to a puppy class after most of her shots, persmart is pretty good. The potty training can take awhile, be diligent, they are smart and very stubborn, at least chester is. |

| First of all, have you taken her in to the vet yet? If not, do you have an appt. to get her in? ...well she cries and shakes alot, its probably just because she's scared right? Try putting a little stuffed animal in the crate or xpen with her at night..is she sleeping in either ? ...how long, do you guys think, before she will get use to being with me. give her a couple weeks, she will know this is her home. ...oh and she sleeps alot. thats okai right? Mine is going on 15 weeks and she sleeps a lot still, most dogs do..think I read somewhere where they pretty much sleep close to 20 hours a day..and that's about what mine do.. ...how long will it take before she gets house trained.depends on how consistent you are, and if you're training on pee pads or outside..my little one is already about 99% housebroken, and I haven't even had her 4 weeks yet. ...how often should i bathe her...I have mine groomed about 3-4 times a year..I have seen a lot of damage done to yorkies hair later on in years because of over bathing..you can wipe them down with wipes they sell at the petstores occasionally if they get stinky.. ...and she doesnt like her toys very much.. any advice? She will get used to them..just be patient..it's just like having a newborn baby around. and i had alot more to say but now i dont remmeber. keke, well any advice at all would be greatly appriciated. thanx alot!!. ^________^" __________________ cindy kwon <3 dwe ji kwon |

| ...well she cries and shakes alot, its probably just because she's scared right? depends shes probably stressing! have nutrical on hand you can buy it at petco! It will help if your baby gets too stressed out. Also how old is your baby??? and how much does she weigh? ...how long, do you guys think, before she will get use to being with me? Give her lots of love and comfort. Dont let her get too stressed. Let her get used to you before shes passed around by friends and family that come over. too much excitment is not always good. ...oh and she sleeps alot. thats okai right? Of course lol shes a growing baby! make sure she gets plenty of rest ...how long will it take before she gets house trained this depends! some yorkies are never really house broken they are stubborn lol! just be very persistent! i never crate trained mine. My oldest hardly ever has accidents but my other is still a baby and we are working on it. Like i said be persistent and patient! always praise them for peeing or pooping outside! Try to always catch them in the action if they are using it in the house because this will help them learn better what they are doing wrong. Dogs tend to forget what they did wrong. Ceasar millian (dog whisperer says if you take your dog outside to use the bathroom dont keep him/ her outside more then 15 mins because they will forget what they went outside to do. Wait 15 mins outside if nothing bring in for about 10 mins and try again! ...how often should i bathe her Most of us on YT bathe once a week. I bathe every saturday! ...and she doesnt like her toys very much.. any advice? my baby pup kiele doesnt like toys either but i think thats her personality! Your baby is getting used to everything but i think eventually she will play with them unless she is like my baby lol! Just be patient and dont try to force her too much (unless shes not eating then thats a subject to push on) Most yorkies are allergic to corn. Dont feed grapes, raisens, onions, or a lot of garlic. You can do research on here about good dog foods and treats. Use a harness not a collar! small breed dogs have small tracheas (sorry for the spelling (area where our adams apple would be) and if they are pressed or pulled on too hard they can collapse! thats all i can think of! other than that enjoy your baby and i hope you learn a lot on here! Yorkies are so much fun!

| also!!!!!!!! she needs to be taken out like every 15 to 30 mins depending on her age but this is for a puppy! please if she is shaking a lot get her some nutrical she might be getting low sugar from the stress of going from one place to another! you can also substitute this with kayro syrup until you get nutrical! when my oldest was a baby he was small so i would put a little big of kayro syrup i his water.

| Our little one is going on 5mo.old now and I still watch for signs of hypoglecmia. If she is shaking and you don't have nutrical or if the vet hasn't given you anything for it, just put alittle Kayro syrup on your finger and let her lick it off. We feed ours small meals, about 4 or 5 times a day to keep her from going into hypoglemcia. It may be she is just scared and misses her mama and littermates but I would be real careful about how often she eats and the low blood sugar. Good luck and hope she does great. |
