Donating YT 11K Club Member | I am sad for Teddy Well I saw Alex's post about her trying to get Coco's papers and pics of her parents and I got kinda sad for Teddy. Teddy was my first Yorkie and when I was first looking for him I didn't know about puppymills, what questions to ask the breeder, etc. I just saw an ad for an adorable Yorkie and I was sold. I didn't even know what AKC registered meant or anything like that. Stupid me for not doing enough research on Yorkies before buying. Well now because of YT I know all of that. Anyway I bought him, never saw pics of his parents, was just told that they were tiny. I never got AKC papers for him, I was told he would be 3 lbs and he is 8 lbs now lol I don't care about that, at that time I wanted a small Yorkie but I love the size he is now! The breeder didn't even ask me questions when I was interested in him or care to call once he got here. She seemed like she didn't even care. He was shipped and I am just lucky that I wasn't scammed being that I was so naive and young. Anyway I am on a hunt to track that lady down and ask for pics of his parents and for papers, if that is possible. I made a thread a while ago asking for help and someone found her and her new website but because i have so many posts that thread is not in my history anymore, it was deleted i guess. I have the old website, here it is. http://yorkiebabies.20fr.com/photo.html That is the website i found Teddy on. His pic is not on there but the little male at the bottom Tiny Timmie and the female Pattycake were supposedly his brother and sister from the litter but that was surely a lie because Teddy's bday is June 25'06 and theirs are diff. Anyway if anyone can help me find her I would appreciate it. Poor Teddy, he is my sweet baby and I don't even know who his parents were. They are probably locked up in some cage somewhere

| I'm really sorry... I know how you feel. When I bought Bentley at a pet store last June, I didn't know what I was doing. No clue about puppy mills or anything like that. Imagine my surprise, when I was doing an internet search on his breeder (because I wanted pictures of his parents), and they were on a puppymill list. I think I sat on the floor for an hour with him and just cried wondering where he came from and what he had already been through in 8 weeks of his short life. I wondered about his parents and if they were okay, and it just broke my heart. I hope that you can find out some answers about Teddy's parents <3 |

| I'm so sorry. Puppy mills should be outlawed! And pet stores that sell them should be also. I've signed several petitions to stop this ungo-dly business. I hope you find your baby's parents. Hopefully Teddy does not remember much of his early life. He has you now to fill his heart and life with love and joy. All in all that is the most important thing. Good luck with your search. I'll do some searching on my own and see if I can find anything. Doubt I can but unless I try I'll never know. Hugs for you and Teddy, Linda |

| You Can Discover The Origins Of Even A Mill Dog, Believe Me I Did It! Bruce's story was much the same...My mother purchsed him from a petstore (actually a place that just sold puppies only) for me after a very painful break up, thinking a yorkie was just what I needed to lift my spirits...We were gauranteed that he came from a local hobby breeder, that he would remain small, etc...My mother and I trusted them, because who would want to hurt puppies, right? Well the trouble began almost immediatly...I caught wind that this place was an outfit for puppymills from my Animal Law professor at law school after Bruce had a few minor problems...I got angry, the little guy was so precious to me, I felt I had to vindicate him or something when thinking about the awful conditions he must have come from...I got in touch with a local animal rights group that had been protesting the store and the attorney representing that group in a defamation suit brought by the store...I got as much information as I could, I called and I confronted the store owner about her lie, she still denied it, I got even more angry all I wanted was for her to admit she tricked us in a way that made us feel morally culpable and say she was sorry and would not lie to future purchasers...Boy was I an idiot to think that was possible...She stuck to her story... I began ton investigate...I went over Bruce's paperwork from AKC seemed as though something was not right about it...Called AKC, at 4 months old Bruce had 2 previous owners, both individuals...I became determined to figure out his actual place of origin...So I decided I was going to sue for deceptive sales practices, and my animal law professor and I set about collecting evidence that this place brokered pups from puppymills. At this point Bruce's jaw defect was apparent, he was begining to show some signs of orthopedic problems, and he suffered frequent stomach issues (all signs he came from a mill)...At first I hoped to preassure them into some sort of admission, so Bruce and I would protest alongside the animal rights folks with a big sign that said "What _______ Puppies did to Me is Absolutly Heartbreaking." Believe me an adorable yorkie face got a lot of attention, then we got threatened with a lawsuit, and had to sort of step back...So we started staking out the place, hoping they would be moving the puppies in trucks and that would give us some info...Nope, we had to go all the way through with a lawsuit and begin written discovery...They objected to nearly every interrogatory as invading protected tradesecrets, as if milling dogs was the equivalent to the coca cola forumla or something...Then out of nowhere a mistake was made a fax cover sheet from the infamous Hunte Corp. was accidentally attached to some other documents we requested...We threatened to go to the media, and I had every intention of doing it, this place sells sick puppies to hundreds of families in my area leaving them often with broken hearts...They got a protective order from the court preventing us from doing just that...Knowing that we were not going to really be able to raise awareness about the situation we agreed to settle out of court. I was refunded Bruce's purchase price and only some medical bills and informed he came from a commercial breeder in Oklahoma (not Hunte)...It really was of little consolation however, but I did find out where my boy came from...

| Dianna Currie = puppy mill! I found this thread while researching Dianna Currie of Wasola, MO. This lady runs a puppy mill. I have researched her all over the internet. She has hundreds of puppies listed on a bunch of different sights. REAL BREEDERS DO NOT BREED MULTIPLE BREEDS! All of her websites (and she'll tell you this over the phone) claim its just her and her friends breeding a few puppies a year. If this is so, how does she have over 300 different dogs of all breeds listed all over the internet??? WE BOUGHT A DOG FROM DIANNE AND IT DIED! IT HAD PARVO AND DIED THE DAY AFTER WE RECEIVED IT! It was a heartbreaking experience and I do not wish it on anyone. We spent a thousand dollars in vet bills, they tried everything to save this dog, but it was too late. She must have know this dog was sick when she sent it to us, yet she claims it got it on the airplane while sending it to us. Symptoms of parvo do not show until 5-10 days! This dog was sick when we got it, and DIED the next day. Whats worse, is it could have gotten other dogs sick that were on the plane with it! Now, Dianne refuses to refund our money(even though she said she would over the phone when I told her the news about the puppy) Before we bought the dog, she answered the phone everytime we called and answered all of our email immediately. She is a good actress! Once we told her the dog died and we want out money back, we never heard from her again. Now, all we can do is spread the word about this awful lady and save others from the pain we went through. DO NOT buy a dog from Dianne Currie, Pup Paws, www.goldstarpuppies.20fr.com, Gold Star Puppies, Inc, Diane Currie, Diana Currie, or anyone at the following phone numbers: 417-265-3300 417-265-3300 417-543-2333 at the email address puppaws@email.com or gold_star_puppies@yahoo.com or any "small dog breeder in Wasola, MO (there are no other breeders in this small town) |

| I'm glad someone read this! I figured it was too late and you may have stopped looking. Unfortunately, I have called local police there, and the local humane society, and nobody's helping. I guess its not against the law there to sell a sick puppy. This lady knows what shes doing to. This obviously isnt the first time this has happened to her. I feel the only justice I can get now is spreading the word and hopefully help other people. I am so glad you pup is fine! I hope in the future too, you tell people never to let this happen to them... There's 2 places you should get a dog, a pound or a REAL LOCAL BREEDER! There's tons of research on the internet on how to find a reputable breeder. As them all the right questions, and you should never never never have a dog shipped to you. Look at the AKC website, and find a local breeder from there. No matter what, you should go pick the dog up, and you should go look at the conditions they are being raised in before you even give the person a deposit. What I've learned form this experience is people can say and act however they want over the phone. This lady put on quite an act! Good luck with your dog, and I'm sorry you'll never get to know more from this awful lady, but please SPREAD THE WORD!!! |
