				   | I just have a general statement/question!? .I took my puppy to a dog show and one of the women who had thier dog in the show said "I hope you didnt pay alot for her because her ears arent supposed to be like that." My babys ears are folded over which I just love and she is the cutest thing ever.I was wondering if anyone else has ever had any rude comments like that and I know the "standard" Yorkie is supposed to have lifted crop ears standing upright or something but I didnt buy her to show.I bought her to love..... I told the lady oh I like her ears and would have paid triple what I paid and I walked away. I just cant believe the ---- of these stuckup show people sometimes.I was there to support their abuse and torturing of their"pets" that they just keep in crates all day until they are showed and she had the never to put my baby down.Next time I will just say what I really wanted to..HAHA Look at my pictures and tell me what ya think of her ears please!!!! Thanks for reading ![]() God Bless ALL Yorkies.

				   | Some people are just rude, and mean. So who cares about them. My babies ears are floppy too - and I do think she is adorable. I tried to get them up because of the "pressure" I felt (that I Put on myself) for my baby to look every bit as perfect as any show dog. But oh well, hers didn't stand up. And I love her to pieces. And I did pay a lot for her. I'm glad I did too - she's very healthy........... Recent pic of her and her flopsy dopsy ears......... I think the floppy ears is why I get so many questions as to what breed she is. Yorkie owners know, but many other people don't. Oh well, I love her no matter what others think. She's beautiful to me Last edited by mrlmonroe; 11-07-2007 at 01:22 PM. |

				   | My baby has her ears down too. They've never stood up and I've never taped them. But I love her no matter and think she is as adorable as any other yorkie.

But, just as you didn't appreciate her rude comment, there are show exhibitors here that would feel the same way about your statement regarding "their abuse and torturing of their pets".

				   | I dont' know how true this is, but I was told by the breeder when I bought our female that some puppies ears won't go up, not because there is any "defect" but because other puppies in the litter chew on the ears of their litter mates and actually destroy the muscles in the ears that make them stand. My girls' ears did go up, not that I cared, but I now have a litter of her 3 puppies. The puppies are not quite 4 weeks old and they are constantly chewing on each other's ears! There is no way I can make them stop, even if I wanted to, short of separating them and they are way too young to be separated. I've been told that leaving them together during this time is very important to their socialization and bite inhibiting skills. I am not a breeder, and my one time attempt turned into heartbreak, but thought I'd put this out there and see if anyone knows if it is actually true. |
