For clean teeth I feed raw bones, much, much safer and does wonders for the teeth.

your post said your dog died a year ago, these new ones haven't only been out a very few mos. not a year..sorry about your loss, but, how could it have been the new improved when they hadn't come out with them yet?

I am so sorry for your loss and I did miss your original post. Thank you so much for the warning. I hope everyone sees this and it will save another dog. I didn't know they had reformulated them but I agree with Chachi- even if they made them safe, I would never forgive them for allowing so many dogs to die and continuing to sell them.

I'm so sorry you lost your precious baby! What kind of raw bones do you give yours? Mine hate having their teeth brushed, and I won't give nylabones either!

I feel the same about Nylabones. I don't care if they wrap them in
24k gold I would never buy another one. Almost lost Buddy because
of those also.
Greenies are a sure NO, NO . Too many dogs died from them.
Word of mouth is always the best way to go.
Better safe than sorry.
It's a sample, I would toss it in the garbage when it came.

I agree, raw natural bones is all Buddy has gotten for over
two years and between tooth brushing, petzlife and bones
there is no tartar anywhere.

I know you've posted about the natural bones before so forgive me for not remembering. Where do you get yours? I'm guessing the butcher? Do you boil them? I'm interested because I always gave mine the Nylabone Durables. I've never had any problems but after reading the problems you had a while back I wont take any chances.

my dogs love them. i dont think there is anything wrong with them anymore. i've never heard of a dog not liking them...ever!!!!

My trainer said NO greenies. The only dental chew she said I should give Elphaba is the iams tarter treats...for which she's not supposed to eat the entire thing. I cut them in half at first...but then she barely got any before it was to small and I'd have to take it away...now I just give her whole thing...she chews for HOURS and then I'll throw it away when it gets smaller.

My dogs normally get Beef Rib bones or Turkey necks. I freeze them first to make sure there is no bacteria, (which would be killed by freezing them.) I thaw them out partially and give them to my dogs. I also feed marrow bones and soup bones. Lacey tries with these bigs ones but it's hard for her since the bones are HUGE and hard for her to move!
