| another yorkie Hi I have a 2 yr. old male Zeus and have another post re his barking at other dogs. i am thinking about getting a sister for him but am afraid that he will be so jealous and don,t want to cause him stress. I thought that another dog might be some good company though and i don,t know what to do. We spend alot of time with him and typically he is very spoiled.I do not wish to cause him harm-what are your thoughts? |

My furkids Donating Member | I got my second yorkie when Sadie was 2 also. She is EXTREMELY spoiled. She didn't like Lillie at first...took her a few months to warm up to her..Now they are best friends. Just pay more attention to Zeus than the puppy at first (I know that is going to be hard) and give him his treats first. Eventually he will learn to like his new fursister when he realizes that she is going away.

| Most animals are not thrilled about a new friend in their house initially - there is jealousy & concern that they won't be top dog anymore, but with time they adjust - sometimes in just days. I love having 2 - they are great company for each other when you are gone. The can play together & cuddle together. My male Siamese died and now I think I may be ready for another one - in part because my female seems so lonely, she only knew life with him. Two can be great friends
