| Val - I am crying. You know that I have followed your story for so long now and I have such admiration for you and I have such high hopes for Babybear. Oh man, what an awesome video. Thank you for sharing that, they just keep getting better and better. I can't wait for the one when Babybear runs all by himself. Val, you are doing so good, what an Angle for a Mom that Babybear has. God Bless You |

| Thank you everyone. I want you to keep enjoying him as much as I keep enjoying him. And I will keep doing that Rain dance. Thank you for all the comments on his little red outfit. His sister Bud has a pink on also. I found them in a store called the Christmas Tree shoppe they only haven them in New England. And the pet clothes are really cheap. I paid I think 3.99 for the hat and sweat shirt combo. Love the deals I can get there. But I have to drive an hour and a half away to get to one. Huh I am going near one this week. I think I will stop in and see if I can find any new fashions for him. LOL We need to keep up so no one gets bored.lol Now if I made him clothes do you think I could still put a d-ring(I guess that is what it is) on the back of his clothes and this wiill not tug on him any more than his harness right??? Just have to be easy with that neck. Do not want to hurt him. Again thank you all for you warm comments. I am just a mom trying to make sure her little guy has a full live. I am sure each and every one of you would have done the same. They are our hearts we hurt when they hurt. And we can not stand by and watch that. So we do what we can. And he is doing great right now because of it. I also can not thank Gizmo the Great(if you go to Babybear's dogster page you can click on Gizmo's page from there just click on the name) and his mom enough for his story with out it Babybear would not have had this new set of Wheels. And a big thank you to Eddie and Leslie from Eddie's wheels for making such a fine product. IT is outstanding. My dream has come true because of these people and this loving pet(Gizmo the Great). I have seen my baby walk without me having to help him. That alone is my dream come true. If he does anymore than that it will be above and beyond what I ever expected.

You are concerned about the placement of the D-ring affecting his neck. I thought of this when I was watching the video. Think of this scenario - when more time has passed, and Babybear is a lot more mobile, and capable of increased speed, what would happen if another dog/whatever caused a sudden burst of energy, and his leash was connected to the D-ring behind his neck? I would worry about the fragility of the bones there because of his condition. I noticed there is a horizontal bar suspended above his back legs/wheels. How about soldering a ring onto the center there, to which the leash could be connected? That way, if he suddenly lunged forward, there would be no risk of injury to his oh-so-fragile neck bones. Just a thought, perhaps you could ask Eddie's wheels their opinion. Just remember the basic rule of Newton's Law in science - "for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." Thus, if he sprang forward unexpectedly, and you were standing still, the force of the forward motion, against you, the stationary "object", could potentially cause an injury, if the front of the harness suddenly jolted against his neck. This really concerns me when I think about it. Hope my description is clear and not too complicated. Hugs to you and your little guy. I am so proud of you both, Lauren

| Val, I just want to explain my above theory clearer. Imagine this hypothesis: I weigh 100 lbs. I have a dog that weighs the same, or more. I am standing still; the dog is attached to a leash I am holding. He suddenly bounds forward. Because of his "mass", plus the acceleration of the sudden burst of speed, a force is exerted against me, that is greater than my own "mass", and the result is that I am yanked forward. No reverse this. Say I am stationery, holding a leash attached to my Mango, who weighs just over 4 lbs. If she sprang forward, because my weight is so much greater than hers, it would cause cause a reaction that would jerk her back to a stop. Now apply this to Babybear. If that jerk on the leash, pulled in any way on the front of the harness, which goes around his neck, what would the potential for injury be? I am so sorry if my post causes you concern, but I am just worried for your little guy. There is always the possibility that I am wrong, I am certainly no expert, but perhaps you could ask someone that is, like your Vet AND the manufacturer of his wheels. Lauren

| Sorry I didn't get one last night everyone to post. I was having a heck of a time trying to get Babybear's video and pictures into the webpage on dogster. If you go there you can see him have his acupuncture. Doc Paul had a ball with him yesterday. I am about to put in a new diary entry. I am uploading video from today. He walked down a hill then up the hill, then to the house in his cart. Way to go. And I found out I am sicker than I thought. I have a severe sinus infection. On all kinds of meds, but hey Babybear still comes first in my book. So I will continue to update his page daily. Sorry to cute this short but I need to get these video's in and do his entry so I can go back and lay down for a bit. Everyone please enjoy.http://www.dogster.com/dogs/136060

I just loved Babybear's Halloween posting on his dogster page! Way to go little man! Going down the hill, and then back up again, like it was "a piece of bone"....LOL. That big doggy - you sure showed him who's da TopDog. Val, so sorry Hon that you are still not well. That sinus infection sure seems to be hanging on. Please take it easy and look after yourself, after all you have two little guys than depend on ya (Babybear and li'l Mikey). Hugs to you, and Happy Halloween, Lauren
