| Welcome to YT - you will learn so much here and feel like you are with family. Which is why some of the more experienced members are sharing with you about the need for the puppy to be with its mommy longer than 7 weeks. The people on here care deeply about Yorkies and the people who love them and want what will be best for your baby and you. Yorkies are different from many other breeds in this respect that the extra few weeks can make a world of difference between a happy, healthy, well adjusted baby and a puppy with health and other problems. I know you want that puppy as soon as possible, but now that you have the information on what is best for your baby, hopefully you will consider the advice of the experienced breeders and others on here before you decide. We're very happy to have you and can't wait to see pics of your furbaby whenever you get her. A beautiful name, by the way! Dana |

| Hi and welcome to YT! I am a new member too - I only joined a few days ago. But I have to say that everyone is so friendly and helpful! I've read a lot of posts and learned a lot too. I agree w/ Whisper's Mom, it would be better for your little one to stay w/ the breeder until she is a bit older. One of my friends (against my strong adivce) bought and bought home a Chihuahua that was only 6 weeks old - needless to say, she did not purchase her Chi from her responsible breeder. Anyway, her Chi got EXTREMELY sick. She spent over $2,000 at the vet to try and save the dog. It really had a terrible outcome because her Chi ended up getting a terrible eye infection (because she didn't finish having all of her proper shots and was too young to leave her mama) and had the vet had to remove her infected eye. This may seem like a rare case but it can happen - as well as other possible problems. Everyone on Yorkie Talk agrees that protecting our babies is our number 1 priority! So take care of your baby and she will return the love 100000000000 percent! Good luck!

| Thank you for all the great advise. I agree on keeping baby with its mom until shes at least 10 weeks old, but I am in a situation where I'll probably have to get her at 7 or 8 weeks. I have spoken to my Vet. about this and he will be watching her very closely. Please just wish us the best. Is there anyone else who got their babies this young? Joy, Nikkie and Baby Chloe |
