| ![]() Many of you know I got two yorkie puppies for my birthday. I have bonded deeply with them both. My husband insisted that I get rid of one of them. (long story). I gave Rickey away to my son and his wife whom I know will be good to him. Noah is taking it somewhat hard. He keeps looking everywhere for his brother. The good side is Noah and I can see Rickey anytime we want to. But that still will not be the same. Do any of you have any idea how long they will grieve for each other? ![]() |

| ![]() Oh no, I'm so sorry about you having to rehome your pup. You are right--at least it is to a good home where you will be able to visit. I don't have any experience in this area. I just feel bad for you and your furbabies. ![]()

| ![]() I have no idea how long they grieve...But I can sympathize with you....I have 2 boys(brothers). A couple weeks ago, daughter had spent the day here visiting.....When she started to leave....She asked if she could take one of them with her. That she was lonely without her Maddie who had recently passed(May '07). This was the first time she had even talked about another pet...So I thought well, I will see them daily...And I knew that she would give him the best home ever-after me...So I agreed. She had decided on Barney since they were already close....Well, they were in the car and fixing to back out of the garage. I started crying and went and got him out of the car. I could not let him go..... So you are a stronger person than I was.....

| ![]() .......that IS a sad situation.....especially since he said you had to "get rid" of one....like they are disposable or something............give it some time but mainly you will have to be twice as enthusiastic and exited when you play with him so he doesn't miss the fun at play time....also you will have to acquire some peace about the situation and start looking at the good things...like you said they will still be able to see each other........this is because he will pick up on your emotions and if you accept things as they are then he will too......... |

| ![]() Thank you all for your support. I miss my little boy but surprisingly neither one of them are acting as if they are missing each other?! Rickey's new mom is my DIL. She went shopping for him today and she is going to let him sleep with her. I know he is in good hands and I am more at peace about it. Noah slept with me last night and he thinks he king of the household now. Also since they are not together they are doing much better as far as the potty training goes. Pepper |
