| gross gross gross....WHY would you eat that?? Ok, so Uno recently took up a disgusting habit. . . He eats his poop If we're outside he'll poop, and walk away, but when he poops on his potty pad inside it's like he just prepared a meal for himself (ew). I HATE leaving him in his pen because I fear he will dine on his poo if he poops while we're gone. I can always see where he pooed, but the poo is gone.......UGH! So here's the real question I have- have any of you tried products that are supposed to stop this from happening?? I'm sure nobody else's yorkie is as gross as mine.... |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | My Wylie used to do that - ugh. We bought Solid Gold's S.E.P. (Stop Eating Poop) online. You sprinkle it on their food - we used it about a month or two and he's never eaten poo since.

| Most of them outgrow it. I don't know if any of the products work. If you just pick it up as soon as you notice it. he will probably outgrow it in a few months. I think the instinct goes back to the wild, maybe they ate it to keep other animals from locating thier dens. |

| I have read on here many times that people have fed their furbabies pineapple and apparantly that helps them not want to eat their poo. Sorry you are having poo issues with him, I am sure though that you can break him of his habit... |

| The only thing worse than eating their own poo is eating someone elses . I was so happy to be able to let my cats go out so I wouldn't have so much mess with the litterbox, but now Roxy goes out and digs up their poo and eats it. Thank goodness Remi is only turned on by the furballs and "ralphs" that the cats occasionally leave.

| i got pills at pet smart call deter. they worked really well. i gave him 1/4 pill everyday (its 1 pill for every 10 lbs daily) for 2 weeks and hes never ate his poop since. my trainer told me that its doesnt work for all dogs, but it worked wonders for my roman. now i can let him give kisses without being disgusted! roman liked the taste of them so they shouldnt be hard to give to your baby. my trainer said u could also sprinkle meat tenderizer on the food and its supposed to help them stop eating their poop. good luck!

| Venus is over a year old now. If I still don't move it fast when she poops on the pad.....she moves it for me. I think she just likes her pad clean of poop...real fast. Thank God she outgrew eating it, that blew me away Even now, if I don't get it fast....I still find parts here and there...eww. Think the wost is finally over for me. I tried several things, none which worked for me. Good news though, they do outgrow this. I no longer have a poop eater, just a poop mover! |

| I'm glad most of you have had success with the anti-poo movement. It's weird, he won't eat it outside but when it's on his pad POOF it's a dissapearing act. I've also noticed that he doesn't stay on that pad anymore when he poos. It's like he goes back and forth from knowing how to use it. ugh. I'm going to post a separate thread for this, but if I can keep him from having to poop in the middle of the night then I wouldn't have to worry about him eating it! I think Uno's "schedule" maybe isn't working for him..? |

| Avery has been doing this as well!! yuck!! We are usually there to pick it up right away, so it's no biggie.. BUT at night if we dont wake up and she has gone on her pad, or also when we leave her in her pen while we are at work, she does this. I almost think she doesn't want it around her anymore(who would blame her) cuz sometimes she will just move it out of the way (ALSO she doesnt like to pee where she has went number 2, so this could also be another reason why she moves it) Sometimes she will eat it and others its just to move it out of the way. haha. Thanks for the info. I am gonna have to try that stuff!! yuck yuck yuck!! gotta love my lil poo head though! haha.

| Ugggggggg! Us too! Violet seems to be getting WORSE with this, even though I have been giving her the "deter" each night. I think I'm going to try going to 2x per day and then give up... It is SO frustrating!! Going to try the pinapple next. Mainly, I'm just glad that it is just "gross", not "dangerous"! Cheryl
