6 months old - the terrible two's!? Hey everyone... So...I have a question. Do Yorkie puppies go through a period while they're growing up where they turn into little terrors? Becuase my sweet cuddly Winston seems to only want to run around my house and chew up everything, bite me, bark...what happened to my sweet boy?! He has more than enough toys, lots of love and attention, goes on good walks everyday...but it seems like he's this energizer bunny of trouble!! Is this a phase they go through or is my dog just nuts!? lol |
It gets better I too am having that problem. Mine is 9 months and is a pain. He does stuff he knows not to do just to get into trouble. I asked the vet and she said that this is when they enter their adolescent years its like a teenager so be firm with them just like you would do when a teenager is getting out of line. It passes quicker though she said by the time he is a little over a year old he will be entering middle age and calm down as much a Yorkie does. |
okay good. my poor other half keeps asking me why our dog just turned to crazy all of a sudden. He was so sweet and lovable and now he's just being a brat !!! And he clearly does it on purpose !!! Can't wait for this to pass !!! |
LOL Pixie is justabout 6 months and ealier she was walking around the house BARKING! at nothing just very loud barking??? She also gets into things sheshouldn't. I just try to redirect her to something else. They do get alot better. my other two are 5 1/2 years and they are calm most of the time... Have fun with Puppy terrible twos it don't last long :):D |
Well, though I have a 6 mo old girl... She has her days... Boys are naturally "bad"... no matter what the species... I think they are just doing what they know to do... 8) |
I don't think they ever get out of them. LOL:D |
5-9 months is supposed to be when pups are at their naughtiest. Malachi is a couple of days off 6 months and is a right cheeky monster at the moment :D |
So mine should almost be done. Boy I hope so because somedays I ask myself why did I want a dog again. But I love him so I could never get rid of him. |
Hoku is 9 mos. and Kalani is 8 1/2 mos. and just recently they turned into little terrors! I can't wait for this stage to pass, I miss my sweet babies:( I'm going to up their exercise and see if I can't wear them out - LOL! |

But I love him so much I never would, but he definietly can test my patients at times! I think next time I'll get a full grown yorkie lol |
Taking him on long walks will help |
maybe with other dogs, but not mine lol we take him to the park and let him run around and around and he chases us as fast as he can for a good hour...and he'll get home and chase my cats for hours. he's relentless!!! |
Lol, Molly just turned 5 mths yesterday, and she is a terror:rolleyes: lots and lots of energy, she has 3 other babies to keep her busy or i would be going crazy, she just learned how to take off her clothes:eek: she is a real stinker, but i know she will out grow it soon, I got my pixe stix today and its been keeping her real satisfied:D :D those are wonderful;) |
