duct tape!!:D pee pad holders work well too |
We had the same problem! We were using natures miracle pads and switched to Wee Wee pads the ones in the Huge white box and my lil Chloe stopped shredding the pads. |
I have just purchased the washable pee pads from Pooch pad. My 5 month old male tears the plastic ones up every now and then even tho they are in the holder which goes around them and locks them down. It cost me 24.95 at Petsmart. The holder is nice however the dog can bite the pee pad and draw it up from the holder and then shred city. I find that I would prefer to have him trained for indoor rather then outdoors because he is so small and afraid of the outdoors, plus I work abit and it would make it easier for him and me if he had access to a potty area while I am away because I cant bare to think of him trying to hold it in case I am late gettting back. I'll let you know how the washable works out for me, but so far from what I have read, lots of YT people have them and like them GOOD Luck! :) Katharine |
WE had the same problem! Oh dear, it's frustrating, but don't give up! We put the wee-wee pad into a wee-wee pad holder with lattice like mesh on the top and that prevented him from shredding the pad. Hopefully it's available where you are. Eventually, though we were able to to the pad on a tray, and he doesn't shred it. Hopefully it's just a puppy thing! |
When Venus started that, I used duct tape, and put them close enough to the puter I could see out of the corner of my eye! Yea, I'm on puter a lot. When I got washable type, she quit... |
Where can you buy the pee pad holders?? |

You can get them at Petsmart. |
My Washable Pee Pads are now on sale for $10 each. Please see posting here: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93415 |
I bought two washable pads today from a home health care supply store. They were $7.95 each. They are the same pads they put on hospital beds! |
I spent the money on a wizdog - they wouldn't use it. I bought a peepad holder, they wouldn't walk on it. I put a waterproof mattress pad down first and then use washable pee pads on top. They do great with it. I also use hiking posts because both my boys hike their legs. (2 liter bottle with cloth baby diaper over it) I wash it all on hot with a tiny bit of bleach. No problems and saving lots of money on disposables. |
YEP ! Had that shredding problem too with Remy ,I sprayed the pee pad with that bitter apple spray and that stopped the problem. I had to do it again at about one week intervals to make sure she didnt start tearing them up again.I finally stopped putting pads down when she was about six months old and started her on a schedual of going outside every three hours. Remy is almost nine months old now and has only had a couple of accidents in the house. |
