What word do you use... ... when they go to the bathroom? Hubby and I decided to use the word "business". I like how it sounds. So when he goes we tell him "Do your business.." and then when he is done we get so excited and tell him "Good business!!" or " Your a good business man!" I have a friend who calls it "Hurry" and know someone else who calls it a french swear word. ;) |
I just say in a really stupid high pitched voice, "Come On Nala, Let's Go Potty!" and "Oh That's A Good Baby, Momma's Baby Go Potty Outside" sometimes the neighbors look at me like I'm on crack. Especially if I take her out right after I get out of the shower, pjs and a towel on my head talking baby talk, lol. |

We always,"Lets go outside and go peepees and poopoos!!!! Like a good boy!!" Then after he goes we jump up and sown and say excitingly," Such a good boy going peepee and poopoo outside!!!! My baby is such a good boy!!! Mama wuvs my Weeg!!!!" I know we are goofy!!! But he always goes outside!!! |
LOL! This is soo funny...We say, "Come on Cookie, let's go peepee or let's go popis (spanish for poop)!!" LOL! Sometimes it gets cut down to simply peepee / popis... :D Then when she's done its clapping and the high pitched praises... ;) Sounds silly but its nice to know I'm not the only one out there. |

We have wished that we started out with another word ... but we started referring to both "jobs" as "tee tee"! Toto uses the pad so every time she goes one of us goes & changes it and say "Good girl, tee tee!" As soon as her pad is cleaned up [she is standing there sometimes like impatiently patting her "paw" waiting for a treat!] She walks with us to the Yogurt Drops and turns her little butt around for us to "blot" the tee tee off her hair and we give her a treat all the while telling her what a good girl she is!! ;) |

I always say "Go potty, Go Potty" and i feel really dumb if im outside, or if someone else hears me.. especially my boyfriend.. he already thinks i spoil my yorkie, and laughs everytime i use "the voice".. you all know what im talking about :D lol... then i saw "Thats a good potty" when he goes and give him a treat.. hes soo cute, sometimes.. he will go just a little bit, get his treat, and then finish again, to get another treat |
I try to stick to minimal syllables. I think "business" is too cmplicated, lol. I use "go potty!" |

Yep, thats the word. :p About the word "business" I thought that it may be a little long and complicated too at first. But as I thought about it, I realized it has the same amount of syllables (2) as the word "potty". But if for some reason he doesn't respond to it the way we hope he does then we'll have to find something else. |

I say "go pee pee" to Daisy to go on her pee pad, but when we take our larger dog outside to go we say " go hurry up". Its a very common thing to say here to make them go but I think it also has to do with our freezing winters up here in Canada and wanting them to "hurry up" so we can go back in and get warm. Brrrr..... |

We say "Hurry up" and if that does not work "ok we are going home now" gets them squatting. |

We tell them to "go potty" but when we praise them we say "good potty" or "good poopy". We do that because he goes through phases where he only wants to do one or the other on his pad. |

We use the word potty too, and when she does we all but do cartwheels for her. |

What Word.... I just tell our Huggz and Kizsez "go pee pee, go potty" and they go very quickly. If they are taking a bit too long I just tell them "hurry or hurry up" and this seems to work right away. I give them an abundance of praises and I really think they love that b/c after they go they look up at me as if they are waiting for my approval. I love it!!! They are both so very good (and hopefully) very well trained in this area that we all go to work and they hold it until one of us comes homes and the first thing we do is to take them out of their crates and let them go....they run super quick to their pee pee mats and they go w/o us having to say anything. I think it is just being consistant and being there too. :aimeeyork :thumbup: :) |
