I don't mean to stir up trouble here, but I just have to ask this. Am I the only one who wonders why we think "screaming at our dogs" is wrong while thinking that scaring them by banging a pot or shaking a penny can - or squirting them with water - is "discipline done correctly?" Lest you think I am trying to be "holier than thou", I'm not. I have also resorted at times to a penny can. Before I used clicker training (& tried to always look for positive solutions first), I also used the squirt bottle and - I'm ashamed to admit - even harsher methods with my big dogs. I am NOT condemning anyone. I just find the logic here interesting. Am I the only one? |
I am just thrilled you posted this Missy! I have tried everything and I mean everything. The barking is cut in half and other mischief is almost stopped completely. Does it work on husbands too?....LOLOL |
I got the whistle and it doesn't work at all. That was a waste of money. |
I tried the squirt gun with Brody and he thought we were playing and drank the water. I will definately try the bowl banging though. Thanks |
Try the Pet Corrector it works so well for any bad behavior! I use it for barking and it stopped so quickly! Gave many as gifts and everyone benefited! Its funny how quick it worked and didn't really have to use it but a couple of times! Great reviews on line as well. |
Good idea!! I will try that, any ideas on housebreaking? Thanks! |

Good idea! Going to give it a try for the boys barking/pulling while being walked. When they see someone on a walk they start barking and pulling like they are attack dogs. |
I just read the info on the Pet Corrector website. Maybe that's why Cesar Millan uses the "tsss" sound as a way to let the dogs know he doesn't like their behaviour? |
