Gracie2006 | 03-11-2007 07:38 AM | Use bells. Tie a string of sleigh bells with leather lacing. (you can get both at any craft store. I usually find the leather lacing in the children's section). Make a loop at one end and hang it on the door knob. Place some peanut butter on the bottom bell. Whenever you take baby outside, set him on the floor in front of the bells and let him sniff at the bottom bell. When he licks it, the bells will ring. If he does not lick it, gently ring the bottom bell yourself so he can see what you are doing. After the bells are rung, take baby outside to potty and reward him when he goes. Eventually he will associate ringing the bells to going outside to potty and he will ring them himself without you having to put peanut butter on the bottom bell. |
