AM I making a mistake??? So Momiji has been a bad girl and won't let me sleep. I used to put her in a small space where she can see me. She has her water, food, and pee pad. But she just barks and barks all night long and I live in an apartment so I can't let her bark like that. So last 2 nights, I let her sleep with me on my bed and she sleeps through the night. She goes to pee before bed and she will pee when I woke her up in the morning. I don't want to spoil her but I need to sleep and I don't want to have a bad relationship with neighbors..... Is it O.K. to sleep with her??? She is 6 month old..... |
Yes, both Winston and Maggie sleeps with us from day one. It's the best waking up with puppy kisses. |
They need to be part of the pack, and that means sharing the same bed. Both my girls sleep with us. |
Professionals say NO however most of us do sleep with our pets. I slept with Buddy for 2yrs until last night. He's 3yrs old. He has been fresh at night growling at me when I move and I won't have him taking over control of MY bed. He is now on the floor in his own bed and I won't allow him on mine again. Do what you feel comfortable with. Carol & Buddy |
Funny thing is that Momiji doesn't give me puppy kisses..... She loves to kiss other people but not mommy... :( I'm little sad but I take it as she is just different!!! (And she is a poop eater so best I don't get kisses...) :D |
I let Mia sleep on the bed until she got used to us and started to feel at home. That way we all got some sleep. After she realized that she was a part of the family, and that she was safe in the house, we trained her to sleep in a crate at night. When it's bed time, and I start turning lights off in the house, she carries her sleepy butt from the couch to her crate all by herself. So, even if you let your dog sleep with you at first, you can always train her to sleep in a crate later on. |

I used to let mine sleep with me but my fiancee wasn't getting any sleep so they sleep all together in the living room in a humungous crate complete w/a baby bumper, comforter, pillows and blankies :) |

I sleep with 3 little doggies all over me -- I love it! :D |
Yes Skippy always sleeps with me. |
Any furry little creature that wants to sleep with me is more than welcome. It makes me feel protected:) . I'm not always thrilled with a tongue up my nose, in my ear or in my mouth before the alarm goes off, but the warm, fuzzy feeling I get when they make little sleepy sounds more than makes up for it:rolleyes: . |
Mine have slept with me since they have been 4 months old. They have never had any accidents except Chachi did one time when he had diahrea but that was to be expected |

If I find the person, I would assume he would like to have me all to himself at least in the beginning..... Then I have to teach her to sleep alone again.... That is my concern as well... |

Five Yorkies are sleeping in the bed with me & my partner!! :p |
Yep.. my 2 sleep on my bed also, although, I must admit that I wish I hadn't gotten them used to it. Both my girls like to snuggle up into my ribs and I can't turn over but it sure is nice when we first get into bed. |

Honey, I'm thirsty..... and he'll be back with a glass of water!!! :D |
When I babysit my grandkids Coton de Tulear, I always let her sleep with me. In fact, I fall asleep faster when Bella sleeps in bed with me. |
we have 4 in bed with us! It is not hurting any thing in this house. Yes , they are spoiled. exxperts do say no. but come on..........I had to give in. |
princess kept barking too no matter what i did..she never got used to it, so 1.5 months later i finally let her sleep with me.. its been 2 years and we both love it! :D |
also its great because she will now hold it in until i wake up and then i can take her outside |
Or you might find a hunnybee like mine that loves to snuggle up with a furbaby. My husband didn't really want another dog (we have a 7 year old coon hound that sleeps with us occasionally), but my children and friends convinced him that would be the perfect gift for Christmas. And of course Sparky was the perfect gift. Now Sparky has his Daddy wrapped around his paw. He's a bigger sucker to Sparky's whines and sad eyes than Mommy is. But that's the effect these little jewel's have on the human race. Trouble is I've heard (and now am a believer) that they are like Lay's Potato Chips.....you can't have just one. :0 |
my girl sleeps with me and has learned to stay on my side of the bed, DH is a light sleeper and has problems going back to sleep if woken up. A couple of times, she was put outside the door because she wouldn't be still, but since she sees my husband as Alpha, she really didn't fuss much. Now if I was to do it, the whining would be much worse! |
1 Attachment(s) Marty sleeps with us every night and has since he was sufficiently house broken. I wouldn't have it any other way. He's the BEST cuddler at nights and in the mornings. He usually sleeps right above our heads... What would my hubby think if he knew I posted this picture?! LOL! |
one of the best things about my babies is snuggle time at bed time.... I have 3 in the bed with me and wouldnt have it any other way! |
Hi I SAY DO WHAT YOUR HEART SAYS:heart to :rose: :hearts-xx |
We had the same problem with Emma, and tried to stick to our guns. Then we started letting her sleep with us on weekends, as a special "treat", but then she wanted to all the time. Since she was about 5-6 months old, she's been sleeping in our bed. Nothing like being a newlywed and having a yorkie in bed with you!!! When we brought Milli home, we IMMEDIATELY put her in the crate in the car. She sees that as her "safe" place, and so she sleeps in there, next to the bed. If she whines, I can stick my fingers through the holes and comfort her, and if she needs to potty, I get up, put the crate in the pen in our room, and open the door. That way, she can get up and potty on the pad, and she'll either go back to sleep in her crate or in the fuzzy bed in the pen. I don't really want another yorkie in bed with us, plus Emma won't really tolerate it unless she's REALLY tired. She thinks the bed is HER domain :) |
