| Crate training Anyone out there ever tried to crate train a dog that has always slept in bed with you. Dogs are 2 1/2 and 3. I love our dogs to pieces, but they want to sleep on top of us, between our legs, etc. We never get a good nights sleep. Please advise.

| AWWWW! Your babies are going to be SOOO sad and really have a hard time adjusting to sleeping in a crate at night after all this time sleeping in bed with their parents. |

| Hello I Put Harvey In His Crate From Day 4 When We Got Him (the First 3 Nights He Slept With My Daughter, As We Felt So Sorry For Him Being Away From His Mummy - It Was That Little Face What Did It!!!!) The Vet Told Us To Get Him Into The Pattern We Wanted For Him And It Worked - Though He Cried A Little For A Few Nights, Now He Is Fine And Though He Doesnt Love His Crate, He Goes To Bed No Trouble And He Gets His Rest And We Do Too. Only Occasionally Has He Slept With Me - Not A Good Experience (he Wants To Be In Your Arms!!!!!!! - EVEN IN BED) Good Luck With Whatever You Decide.

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | oh oh, that's a hard one, because they have been in paradise... Dogs love to sleep with their owners, but it they weren't allowed from day 1, they know that is not allowed. But if they were sleeping there for 3 years, oops, I think that now they will think they are being punished or something. My yorkie sleeps with me but he has his own cuddle bed at the end of the bed. At times, he comes up to me and cuddles around my arm, but most of the night he stays in his bed, so he doesn't bother me at all. Maybe if you would try to restrict him to an area of the bed using a nice and comfy bed or blanket, I don't know, try to persuade him by giving him treats for staying there. Otherwise, you can do the crating, but they will be so sad! |

| If they were crate trained before you started letting them sleep with you it might work o.k. but if not you might have a long road ahead. Do you plan to put them in seperate crates or together in a playpen or larger crate? It might work better if they're together...at least that way they can snuggle with each other. Good luck..... |

| I posted this once before from someone elses similar question, a friend of mine HAS one, and she loves it for her dog, would it be something to consider?? http://www.mybedsidebuddy.com/ I personally don't and would never let my dog sleep with me, but that was something I decided at the beginning. Best of luck to you!!! |

| crate training Well, after giving it some thought, I have decided not to do it. I guess they have been spoiled for too long! And yes, they would feel like they were being punished. I do have their little cuddle beds on the foot of our bed, but they get turned over from my husband rolling around! If I had it to do over again though, I would crate train them.

| Venus tries sleeping on top of my feet, which drives me nutz. I start out on my side now, so she can't get on my feet, and when she still tries, I move them enough to get her off them. Yea, drives me bonkers at times still, but at least she's closer to mommie than in the crate now. I suppose I put up with it. As long as I can fall asleep, I'm ok. |
