I agree with you!! It is all about the owner needing training! I for one realized this after watching a few dog wisper shows.. I saw some problems I was having with Sami & Tilly and realized I need the training! I learned to remember that they are dogs first then my children... next week I will sign up for beginning classes for Sami although he is 2 years old would this interfere with the younger puppies?? or is there a age limit for beginning classes?? thank you all for all this much needed information.. |
No problem with our instructor as far as age is concerned in the beginner and intermediate class, just the puppy class is restricted to puppies as far as I know, talk to the instructor when signing up if possible, I spoke to mine and was going to bring in my 9 yr old poodle and he didn't have a problem with it, the 9 yr old is actually very well behaved but I would like him to do some tricks etc. above and beyond being cute and lovable. I don't know if I will persue this but I know I can if I want to. Best of luck to you with the classes, let us all know how it goes!:aimeeyork |
We start Puppy Classes on March 17th. We will be in a class with only Yorkie and s**tzu's. I am nervous! |

I know I am going to enroll Ludo in a Petsmart class, but which one would you recommend the puppy class or the beginner class? He is only 12 weeks old -- he sort of knows how to sit and fetch already. I just don't want to sign up for the puppy class and feel like he has learned nothing or wish he would have learned more. Can anyone give any good descriptions of the two? |

Thanks! I guess it will have to be the puppy class since he isnt old enough for the beginner! |
I have been trying to train chino to sit and lay and other tricks on my own for about 3 mo. now with no luck so we start our classes in early march. hopefully it works. |
Bailey is graduating this Tuesday from Puppy Education......I think its so GREAT!!! :D |
Pixie graduated a last week from Beginner - she was Salutidogtorian. I was so proud of her. She is also in the Tricks class now... but we may have to defer classes until another time. |
The puppy class is the same class as the beginner class. The difference that our trainer told me is that sometimes, older, untrained (beginner) dogs, don't have good tolerance for puppy behaviors, so they put older beginners in their own class away from the puppies. |
Maggie Mae just graduated puppy class last Monday! I was so proud of her! It's an invaluable class, I think. Even if your puppy knows how to sit or lay down, it's great for socialization and to learn how to continue to train other behaviors. I loved it! |
For those that have graduated or about to... were you in a mixed class? Meaning big and lil dogs? |
I am excited to hear yu all have benefited in some way. Rusty starts tomorrow, I am SOOOOO exctied. !!! |
