Isn't it funny how thing's work sometime's. I truly think the key was Justin's girlfriend holding Quincy. Of course, I could be wrong. And another strange thing is I took Quincy to Petsmart to buy a muzzle. Well they were out of them. Guess that was God's way of saying he didn't need a muzzle. ;)

As far as the new toy's go,,,I'll have to stick to him giving him treat's for now. Quincy has never liked playing with toy's, or even people for that matter. I'm thinking it's because of his age. He's around 9 y/o I think. He did how ever play/fight with the cat. They would chace each other all over the house every morning. Unfortunately, I no longer have the cat.

Sounds like things are turning around. I hope Justin realizes the seriousness of tormenting any animal and the consequenses it produces.

I am slightly confused here. I was under the impression that you were his mother and yet in your post #18 you state that his mom's health has declined and has to be institutionalized. Did I misread your post?

I love Baily has it right. I'm the Daddy. I guess between my 2 post's I may make it sound a bit confusing. I'm sure some of you thought I was young because I said I live with my mom. So hear's the story.

I'm a 46 y/o male. ;) Several year's ago my dad also had a stroke. We thought for sure he wasn't going to make it. So my mom asked me to move back home for a short while until the worse had passed. They had no income with out my dad working. Well that has been at least 5 year's ago. Everyday we thought was my dad's last,,,so I couldn't just up and leave. Now I'm paying all the bill''s. My dad did just pass this March. Now my mom want's me to take over the house. Well the point to this is I don't want you guy's to think I'm some 46 y/o guy living at home with mommy. :eek:

Justin's mom had her stroke at 40, my dad at 40, and my sister had one at 40. Talk about being scared to turn 40.:eek: So there's my sad tale,,,,,lol.

:embarasse Thank you for clearing that up for me. Just the fact that you are his dad is explanation enough. You didn't need to go into personal details so thank you for sharing. I am sorry for the hardships you and your family have had to face recently. I am quite sure that with all that has happened, it has to be so very hard for your son to see his mom go through what she is and then his grandparents and aunt on top of it.

Prayers are with your family and your son especially. I also am happy to hear that things are working with your son and your little Quincy.

If ever one of my fourteen siblings EVER tried abusing our dogs.....my Dad would kick our Asses to Colorado......

OH WOW. No offense but they are NOT dumb animals. Sorry - but that comment is the reason so many animals are abused:( I didn't read this whole thread and don't want to sound mean but - and your son needs help.

I dont care how old he is or what Quincy does - your son does NOT need to kick any dog. Wow - if I ever caught my kids doing that they'd hear from me loud and clear. Your son can really hurt this dog - do you realize that ?? If I were you I'd keep them seperate but I sure don't blame your little Quincy for wanting to attack...dogs are VERY SMART.

sorry - but when I hear stories like this it just upsets me. People are in control of their own actions. What your son is doing is wrong...it's called animal abuse.....I hope for your dogs sake this gets worked out....poor little guy.

If your son is behaving in this manner, the dog will end up having to be put down. I would place the dog in a more suitable home asap. ONe without a young male in it as Quincy is going to react this way if he meets a young male that even remotely resembles your son.
Unfortunately, wtih the experience Quincy has had, it will be very difficult to turn him around now in your home and especially if your son is moving in. Damage is done, and I would trust Quincy to perhaps come around but I would not trust your son to not aggravate him especially when you are not home.
YOur son is 21, not sure why it is necessary to move home, he is an adult. But if you insist he can move in, the dog must move out or it can cost him his life one day. YOu cannot have a dog in a home where he is upset and has the potential to be tormented.
NO ONE comes through my front door if they are going to mess with my dogs.
My neices and nephew used to when my brother and his family visited my folks and I visited at the same time.
I merely stopped visiting my folks when my brother was there with his family.
I would protect my dogs with my life and if that means family members don't come through my front door, then so be it.

I guess I need to clear the air. I know these are smart animal's. I didn't really mean he was just a dumb dog. I was trying to make Justin realize that he had to be the one to get the situation under control. The dog wasn't going to say,,,"hummm,,,this is wrong,,,I need to change". :eyebrow2:

Hmmmm I was sure your original post said your son both kicked the dog and the crate the dog was in. To me that is abuse.
A grooming client I have had a Pom that was killed when a neighbour kid kicked it. My client got another Pom but made darn sure no kids every came near it again.
There is never ever any reason or excuse to kick or kick at a dog or a crate containing a dog. Villette is right that is outright abuse.

Sorry to be harsh, but tell your son to grow up. tormenting and kicking at a tiny dog is very immature. Your dog appears to be a very good judge of character.

My sisters son antagonized her little Shih Tzu when he was about 12, and the dog never did like him, still doesn't, even though he has outgrown teasing the dog.

I know...I should have read all the posts....I had a hard time getting past the kicking part :( ....I really hope things work out for you - but I would never let my kids kick any animal - period. Hopefully your son knows better now....if you do see this kind of thing happening - why not let him read this ?? We all love dogs too much to not say anything and I hope you weren\'t offended by what I said.
