Eating up the Wee Wee Pads Cody is 13 weeks and he is in the proces of being crate trained. He is very good when we are home, and crate him and let him out Since both my husband and i work, we leave out the wee wee pads in our little kitchen and leave the crate door open. By the time we get home, the wee wee pads are all ripped up and all over the place. We even got one of the frames that hold it down but the little sucker manager to rip it out of the tray. I know he's a puppy and it's normal behavior. But are there any suggestions we can do so the kitchen isn't in chaos.

Try the washable, reusable pads. I don't think he could tear them up. Nancy

| wee wee pad holder..... I had the same problem with Gracie so I went and found the holders for them. Its a plastic thing that has a frame that come off of it then you lay the wee wee pad on top of the plastic base and then the frame over that and it snaps on. I found mine at Petco and Gracie hasnt shredded them since. It also protects the floor in case you get some leaking from the pad. That might help with your yorkie.....

Thanks for the responses. I think i will have to try the washable reuseable ones. i actually did get the frame that holds it down, doesn't work...the little guy figured out that after he pees and the spot is wet he can get to it and rip it up. i live in ny and there are people in my building who dog sit. does anyone think it's a bad idea to crate it during the day and get someone to come and let him out every couple of hours and play with him also?

Pet sitting sounds like a good idea. He would love the company and perhaps train more quickly. I use the disposable pads for during the night when I have to get up with Tink and I throw them out right away in the morning. In the evening when I'm home, we use the washable pads. They're expensive, but well worth it. She uses them better too. I think she likes the krinkly sound of the disposable ones and that is why she tears around the apartment with them although she has never torn them up.
