I installed a new storm door and put a doggie door in it. My patio is fenced in. The guys love the freedom. They only use the pee pads when we are not home. They are only allowed in the living room for 2 hours in the evening, cause they seem to think peeing on carpet is allowed. I set the pee box right in the middle of the living room. hopefully they will learn to go outside from the livng room as well as the kitchen. |
they have doggie dorrs in the master bath, which is where they sleep at night.... they hardly ever have an accident in there..... and a doggie door in the living room slider.... which Pixie uses all day long to run in and out.... but she'll run inside to pee! lol Its really not funny! :( They are in the Kitchen/breakfast nook, which is a huge area of hardwood floors.... we go outside every hour to two hours to potty.... It works for everyone but pixie! |
I am sooooo right there with you!!!! I also have the white carpets and have had to clean them as well! Gilbert is 10 mos and I am so frustrated! I did find some stuff I liked at the Oreck store. It is their pet stain removal but it is 18.99 a bottle! It really worked but so darn expensive! I think I should start over with him, but I obviously did something wrong to begin with so where do I go from here. Just know you are not alone girlfriend! |
I would crate her and keep a close eye on her, when she wakes up from a nap, take her out side as fast as you can and tell her to "potty" when she goes praise her up and down like crazy and give her a yummy treat, I would let her play for 1/2 hour or so then back in the crate she would go and just keep doing this and it may take a good week or longer. Good luck!!!!!!!!!! lots of patients!!!!! |
Try Urine Gone. Having your carpet professionally cleaned doesn't mean that the pee smell is completely out - the yorkie's nose is powerful. I had to spray my carpet after I had it cleaned. I was able to see traces by using a black light. But after spraying the carpet with Urine Gone I have had no problem areas in my carpet. |
same problem here....... I am having the same problem with Hailey, she's driving me crazy !!!!!!She just doesn't get it either!!!!!I am also about to clean my carpets soon, they look and smell terrible and they're brand new!!!!!!! I's been 4 months since i got her and still pees and poops on my new carpets!!!!!!!! And i thought i had it bad!!!!!!!!:D I take her outside every 30-60 minutes but she still has accidents in the house even if i constantly watch her!!!!!! What can i do? Should i crate her when i am home or confine her to the kitchen?I am home with her all the time and i am starting to think i am not a good mom if she's not housebroken yet.:( Also, when she pees or poops in the house, what kind of punishment shoud i use?I usually tell her she's been bad and to "go laydown" away from me because she hates being alone but she does not seem to learn from it.Can someone please give me an advice?I don't know what else to do. |
Age? I USE to have a perfect yorkie (LOL) I use to read the board and everybody's problem's with their dear little pups while smugly thinking....I am so glad Mayzie is perfect! <SIGH> Well ever since Mayzie turned 9 months old she has been a terror! She is pee pad trained-rarely had accidents (an occasional miss), she sleeps all night, blah blah blah but lately she is just peeing and pooping in every room upstairs. She has a pad in the master bathroom (upstairs) that she has absolutely quit using! I am now feeling everybody's pain  I am just wondering if anybody noticed a change around 8/9 or 9/10 months. My husband is blaming the addition to Mo but it started before we got him--He just doesn't know that ;) . The funny part is he is housebroken and that is one thing my husband was "down" on because he just thinks it is so much better being pee pad trained because we can go away and not worry about letting the dogs out. I think he might be changing his thoughts on that but just to prideful to admit it  But I have to say my little Mo is precious and just about perfect ;) Any Opinions on the age theory? |
I agree! I bought a much cheaper version on HSN for a third of that price and it does the job well. My poodle is good about potty but when she is sick or has pain (arthritis pain) she is spoiled rotten and will pee on the carpet..... The shampooer has become my best resource! |
Glad to see someone post this Just when I thought I had it made------Last week was my birthday and I awoke to presents-someone had peed on the floor in our bedroom and someone else had peed in our bed. I have 2-a 1yr old and a 20mo old. Each will occassionly have an accident but this looked more like and "on purpose' During the day, if we are out both go into a large crate with beds and no problem. The x-pen didn't work for us because the 1yr old climbs the side and gets out. Our family room carpet has been replaced with wood flooring and every carpet has been shampooed frequently-nature's miracled and odobaned. What more can anyone do? During the day they have free run of the kitchen and family room with the rest of the house gated off unless I'm with them. They are like lightening-I can be right there in the same room and like majic pee appears on the floor |
what about a doggie diaper? |
No more puddles!! Thank goodness, i thought it was only my little izzie. Shes 7 months now and during the day she will go outside if the door is open. I have to watch her like a hawk if the door is shut because if she wants to go and she cant get out she will pee on anything soft!!!! i've even tried kneeling by the back door and barking so she will get the idea..... i think she just finds it amusing and licks me and walks off. AAAAHHHhhh Has anyone managed to get their babies to ask to go out for a wee? |
