I use the Nutro Natural Choice Training Bits. I just break off small pieces at a time and give it to him. The Petsmart lady said it is one of the healthiest treats. |
If you are serious about training, find something that he realy really likes, cut it up in teeny - tiny baby english pea size treats. Save this special treat for the important things and use other treats for less important. I used imported swiss cheese, beef hotdogs, and some lean ground beef that I browned and rinsed to get rid of the extra fat. Chizzie paid attention to me :) |
Your baby's adorable! I use Eukenuba puppy treats and break them into MANY pieces and store in a sandwhich baggie. I only give treats as positive reinforcment at this age, because one treat is like a whole meal! Whatever you use, make sure it's small! |

Britta, For training or rewarding most commands, I give Joey a piece of kibble. I buy small bags of different kibbles so that he's getting something different than what he normally eats. That way, just a piece of kibble seems like a treat! Works for us! For potty-training, I always used really good treats - tiny bits of cheese or leftover meat. More often than not, Joey still gets this type of treat when he responds appropriately to "come". It's such an important command, I want it strongly reinforced. Good luck! Have fun! |
