I get up at the same time everyday, even weekends, to let Tootie go potty... after he goes out, I give him a chewie treat that he loves, and he lays with me until I get up.... d |
Have you tried putting Angel to bed in a crate. Lillie sleeps in a crate and does not use it for bathroom, thank goodness, I have had dogs that did. Now I am sure if I left her there all day she would but at night that is her bed. During the day she is downstairs blocked in the kitchen as she is not potty trained no matter how many times I take her out. I do cover the crate when it is bed time and she seems to understand, like I said before she get anxious when it is time for bed. Also she has just recently started to be calm when I hold her. She is not a lap dog, that is for sure. |
I forgot to say, Lillie has a stuffed dog and her blanket I made her in her bed (crate) and she has had it since the first night. Mary |
Kali is 12 wks old. She sleeps in a crate right next to my bed and next to her big brothers crate. At night she goes right to sleep. But anywhere from 4:15 - 5:20 she wakes up crying. When I get up with her she immediately goes to her potty pad. Last night she woke up at 1 went potty and went right back to bed and was back up at 5 (went potty and stayed up). I wish she would sleep in a bit longer but I won't discipline her because she is crying because she has to potty. Her bladder just needs to grow.:) |
At 12 weeks they do need to go out more. I know I got Lillie at 12 weeks and we were up quite a bit but she is 5 months now and has been sleeping all night for about month and a half. Just like human babies, some have weaker bladders than others, happens when they get old too. Good luck with Kali, I am sure she will sleep better soon. How big is she? Not sure if that makes a difference but I would imagine it would as my boxer who is now in Doggie heaven could hold it forever and trained so fast but the little ones are always harder. Mary |
Our's is a mantle/shelf ticking clock that I sit outside her crate. Wish I had thought to put it there sooner before loosing some sleep. |
Kali is only 1 lb 9 oz. right now. I'm sure that is why her bladder is so little. |

Lucky me!!!! All three of my dogs would sleep until noon if I did. Don't ask me why..... (I usually do let them out for a potty break around 8:00 every morning) After that - they're ready to sleep again. Carol Jean |

Spencer has been waking me up at 6:30 in the morning to so i usually take him outside then he does his buisiness and then we go back to bed for a couple of hours. I have his bed on my bed with his little blanket so he goes there and sleep. but good luck:) |

crazy because we get up at 6:00 during the week and I wanted to sleep in alittle on the weekends. I put a chew toy in the top drawer of the night stand and when he woke me up I reached in and gave it to him, only on the weekends and it did give me about 1/2 hr more until he got older. |
Hi, i know what you're saying!Hailey is 5 months old and since i got her (about a month ago ) i haven't had a good night sleep either!!! Since her crate is in my bedroom she wakes me up pretty early, usually around 4:30a.m.(because my husband goes to go work at that time)or sometimes around 6:00.But other nights she cries and whines at any time.............!!!! I usually try to keep her up until 10:00-11pm so that i get a little extra sleep in the morning but it does not work all the time:( |
Both of mine wake me up early every morning...between 5:30 and 6:30. But after I let them out to potty then they go right back to sleep. |
