Don't let him near the carpet unless he has just gone. They have tiny bladders so even then he could have an accident. Please remember he is a baby.

This is not a question of accidents, he wont even go to the pad by himself and looks like he will never get it . If i dont put him on the pad he will simply pee on the carpet. :mad:

Probably bc he is so scared by the way you are acting! Everytime that he goes on the carpet just say NO really firm (NOT YELLING) and place him on the pad! He will eventually get it! These little guys can be really tough to train so you just need patience to own a breed like this!

Is there any way you could train him to go outside or in a litterbox? If the pads aren't working, maybe something else will?

Yes, it is a question of accidents. Once he understands he will use the pads. It takes time!!!!! This is what they all do.

Even if he has just gone on the pad, he will do it two minutes later on the carpet looks like he enjoys doing it, i ignored that for the last couple of weeks but now i have had enough of it, if he just peed why would go 2 min later and pee on the carpet????? this is what is upsetting me so much ...when it comes to other things like i show him his leash he understands immediately and goes running to the door so it's so hard for him to understand that pee and poo have to be done on pad ????/ :mad:

Is he neutered? He may be marking his territory??? My maltese did the same thing, but after he was neutered, he stopped.

You have allready made the biggest mistake with your pet. You put his nose in it , You beat his butt and yelling at him.You should Never hit you pet. He will never learn this way. you are confusing him and he will never learn what you are trying to teach him . instead he will be scared and never trust you. All it takes is patience and understanding.If you think you dont have it in you .then maybe you should find him a good loving home.

He is not scared of me as today was the first time that i did to him in the last couple of weeks i would praise if he goes on pad and say no to him and bring him ti his pad and talk to him in case he peed on carpet :mad:

Can't train him to go outside as the weather is still cold and for the litterbox i'm scared he will eat the stuff they put in it .

Also I agree with Princess Zoe, maybe he is marking. I have never owned a male so I dont know when they start that but thats what it sounds like to me!

This is one of the most difficult things to train them to do. I would stand outside in the freezing cold (we averaged about 20 minutes each time), and there would be times I would think he didn't need to go and as soon as we came in he would pee in the house. You are not alone. He is just like many of our yorkies. Some get it right away and some take forever. You do love him, right? He needs you to show him that love now. Be patient.

So have you only had him for a couple of weeks then? What kinds of potty training did his former family give to him?

I have him since dec 31 and the breeder told me that he is trained to go on pads but obliously she was lying .
