The second class was fun and social. Some non-trick things that we did in the class like targeting and holding and dropping things is very useful at home. It was fun, but the "advanced" classes got to be over doing it if we weren't going to compete. Loki will never do a 2 minute stay and I don't see a reason for him to. As long as he responds well to me at home, on walks, in the car, etc. I don't think he needs to do anywhere near competitive level obedience. Some of the tasks were boring for both of us, even though we learned a lot. So we did our 3 classes and took a break. Next we are going to try the Canine Good Citizen class & test because it will help Loki work on some issues he needs help with. I had wanted to do agility, but Loki doesn't seem interested and now with his LP he can't. I'm just happy to have a well behaved dog. :D |
