That sounds like a good suggestion, Kim. Judy, you could even do this just to "walk" Zoey over to her food bowl or to a treat on the floor. |
i'm taking a training class with my puppy and she didnt like the collar and leash at first... the trainer started with treats and then calls her name once and follows up with a lets go and she started walking... i dont know why that worked but it did so just a suggestion - snickers was 11wks at her 1st class. does anyone know the difference between using a harness or collar and whats better to use? |

Leash Training I just finished a training course. My instructor had me use a wooden spoon with cheese wiz in it. I held the leash in one hand, the spoon in the other. I held the spoon in front of her face and said "heel" . I continued to walk with the spoon right in front of her and repeated "heel" It takes a lot of time and consistancy. Good luck- feel free to Email me with any questions!! |
Thank you for all the helpful advice...we're tryind daily but still sitting !!!! Thanks again. |

Thank you to everyone for your help, no luck yet but we're practicing daily and shes still sitting  But I think she'll get it sometime I hope. Thanks again....I am trying some of your suggestions. |
I agree, just keep trying, keep practicing....it seems like both of my girls were like that at first, but all of sudden something just clicked and now they LOVE walks!!! We try to go for walks as often as we can, they just love to get out of the house and walk the neighborhood!! Just give her some time, lots of praise when she shows any improvement and hopefully she will begin to understand!! |
