How old was your Yorkie if you started obedience classes? Fagan is 9 months old. I'm thinking of starting obedience classes? If you did this with your Yorkie, how old was he/she when you started? I searched old threads but couldn't find any answers. |
Joey was roughly 20 weeks old when we started. I highly recommend that you go. It's great fun! |
bunjee was 10 weeks old . |
Trixie was 5 mo. old. |
Cash was 3 months. |
Sorry to sound dumb but what exactly is "obedience class"? |
I've started dogs at different ages and I think that 6 months for a yorkie is best. They are small and need time to mature if you are going right into obedience and not puppy kindergarten. Best to do it soon for you! |
We love obedience! Loki was about 5 months old. We started in an 8 week puppy class, then did 2 more sessions of obedience and a "tricks" class. Next we are going to do Canine Good Citizen. |

Rocky started at 11 weeks old. He loves going because after his class, he gets to play with the other puppies for a little bit. |
Bailey was about 11 months, I wish I would have went earlier, to the puppy classes. |
Bailey was five months old when he started puppy school. Dayzee started last Saturday and she was seven months old, but we had been training her for the eight weeks she had been with us in basic commands. They both love the socializing with the other dogs. |
Classes Ginger my lab went when she was 3 months old! |
Wow! Wow, I think Fagan is getting old. I didn't realize we might want to start younger. Well, it souds like everyone liked it alot...including the owners! I think I will get right on it. Thanks everyone!! |
Lexi was 12 weeks but we had a few one and two year olds in the class. I wouldn't worry so much since your baby is still fairly young. The thing that counts is that you try...and do all your homework he he. |
