last week we brought home a now 9 week old male yorkie, maxx. we already own a 6 year old yorkie, Maggie. a couple days ago they have started what looks like playing. tales wagging, an occasional growl, jumping on each other, and no one seems to be hurt. Its definitely not the same as when Maggie lets maxx know when he is crossing her boundaries. my concern is that during this play time Maggie will back it up to maxx... Maggie was suppose to get fixed prior to bringing home this new puppy but instead got sick and we were advised to hold off for a couple weeks. HELP! we don't want puppies! nothing seems to be swollen so I don't think she is in heat but ive heard that there is something called a 'silent heat'? they're suppose to be brother and sister not boyfriends and girlfriend

Hi and welcome to YT. I am not sure as Buster is my first dog and was neutered when I got him. Hopefully others will post.

I can't help either but I think I would ask my vet if it is even possible for them to mate as he is so young. Welcome to YT

I have no idea when a male puppy can start procreating... but when are you planning on getting her fixed? If you're concerned, just in case, it may be wise to keep her in a diaper or panties/pants until then.

Just to be safe.

Hes too young to impregnate her he probably doesnt even have visable testicles yet

I'm sure you are right. I thought he was too young but wanted to check

my little girl is only 3.5 lbs and I've heard too many risks about her having puppies. But like I said the vet told us to wait a couple weeks until my little girl is completely healed and ready for surgery! Which I appreciate her actually caring about the dog. Many vets just do it anyway unfortunately. Ill make sure to call in the morning when they are open

thats a great idea. we have to wait for her to finish her antibiotics for her to get fixed

poor baby. which will be another week or two
