how to stop a yorkie from eating their poop? Lola is pee pad trained but lately she has developed a habit of eating her poop :( We're taking her to the vet on Sunday but just wanted to know if anyone here had any suggestions for the mean while. TIA! |
Here's a thread I created 2 years ago because Max had the same problem. I'm sorry to say that after trying everything, the only way to currently prevent it is avoidance. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-his-poop.html |
we followed the poop guru's advice on the above thread and thus far and a can of pineapple chuncks later keylo is no longer a poop eater. |
OK thank you! How much pinnaple should I put in every meal? She eats 1/3 cup 3x a day. |
I'm off to buy some canned pineapple chunks LOL! |
lol at least three pieces a day....up to five is ok i think..i do the three. |
Sounds like great advice to me. I will be adding this to my Princess Sophie notebook. It contains tons of stuff from this site! Thanks so much! |
Wow! pineapple chunks worked for Harley! It's amazing... I never thought anything would help... |
interesting... |
Yes, pinneapple worked like a champ. Still have a bit from a can left and she is no longer a poop eater. She won't even pick it up. |
The pineapple works to make the poop unattractive but if they started eating the poop because of a difficiency in their diet(growing puppies!) some banana every day will help with their potassium levels. I kept frozen slices in the freezer and fed Abby some every day, she loves it! ( I did this because she ate Zivas:rolleyes: not her own) |
So she stopped eating the poop should I stop giving her pineapples or should I continue for a while? |
