The biggest issue I had was the first week with two females! It was HECK! Rosie was pissed and she made sure we all knew it! However that didn't last forever. And with you getting a boy I think it will be fine. As far as feeding, grooming, pottying, etc. I did everything together with my girls. And yes they both drink from the same water bowl. Everything the same except Rosie gets everything first. She was here first so we tend to her first. When I'm gone my son says they sleep together. And the play!! Man you will love watching the two play together! Now, the changes for me! It is harder taking two places. It has been an adjustment for me. And twice the dresses! I wouldn't trade having two ever. I'll always have two now. But two is my limit! I think you will love having another addition! |

I am itching for a second at this point. I can tell I'm getting closer. Jackson is now 4. I'm so happy for you and Luma! We part-time live with other dogs (over at my dads house) and there's 3 of them and they're honestly in such a routine, it's not a big deal. We just feed them all at the same time, they all eat right next to each other and know not to mess with each others bowls. Also, wanted to add, our female is the only one who goes to the bathroom in the house almost once a day... *sigh* She also marks on walks. The boys are great. Jackson will lift his leg on walks, but he squats at home, and never goes in the house. He trained in a breeze. I'm partial to little boys though, and prefer them :) |
1 Attachment(s) The boys were easier to pee pad train for me. Momo lifts his leg, so I had to make a marker for him. We use water bottles filled w/water, wrapped in pee pad. Attachment 379000 Turbo has his spot & Momo has his. Turbo learned to lift his leg from Momo & he likes to go against the wall...the bottle prevents him from going too close to the wall. I also prop up the pee pads to go up the walls just in case. You'll find what works best for you & the little guy! I got Momo when Mimi was a little over a year old. She's a very friendly submissive type, so Momo got to be the alpha dog right away loll. She was so gentle w/him & wouldn't leave his side! |

First, I would make sure the piddle pad is away from any vertical surfaces that encourage leg lifting. Second, praise for squats and correct leg lifting with a "no" or "uh uh uh." We brought Teddy home from his breeder at 8 months, right after he was neutered, and he was a 100% squatter. |
Huey was a leg lifter right from the start (<3 months) and at almost 4 years old, I still have trouble with him marking. I have had to buy belly bands because he was just about unwelcome at my parents house due to trying to mark inside. At home he is fine, but he is an only dog. |

Yoshi was harder to potty train than Momo. That may not be the case with everyone though. He still has the occaisional accident. He's neutered, but he still marks on whatever those pieces of wood where the floor & the wall meet - for some reason I can't think of the name of those things right now  He also pees on one leg of our piano. I taped up a piddle pad where he marks & he actually stopped doing it! I guess the piddle pad freaked him out. LOL I never crated mine at night. I guess I just felt bad for them. I'm such a sucker! I had Momo (my 2nd) in the bed at night from day one. I admit, she did pee on the bed twice. But I bought one of those mattress protectors just in case. She learned quickly though & she was good after a few days. Yoshi never peed on the bed & was great with holding it. He was also older when I got him (20 wks). Momo came home at 12 wks. There's a thread somewhere about a temperament test for new pet owners from "gemy". I'll look for the link for you. I'm getting my 3rd soon & I'm also troubled about what to look for personality wise. Momo is dominant. Yoshi is submissive. I was advised to look for a girl that is not dominant. "Tjdmom" told me that if you cradle the pup like a baby & he/she struggles or looks away, they're more dominant. Good luck! |

i have 3... 2 girls 1 boy... it is mum and 2 pups. the mum lets the pups eat first and then has her own food. potty training is fun. the 2 pups take turns to be the "good" one and the one that goes inside aka "the naughty" one. they all act different. the mum likes to be in the room with someone but not get hugs the girl pup likes sleping next to me and the boy wull push my lap top (letters, dinner, book, coffee) off and curl up on me. walking is fun..2 of 3 dogs not wanting to walk to heel. they are fun to watch when they get playing. i just put everything out of reach and hope they don't bounce off of me as a group |
