My Yorkies are fighting...help!! Hello everyone, I am having a problem with my yorkies, first let me introduce them. Lexi (female)is my first yorkie and is now 2 1/2 years old, Master of the house...or so she thinks. Then I got Ben (male) now 1 yr 3 months old, a complete love bug. Then we got Cooper (Female) now 1 yr old, very sweet and calm. the problem is that with in the last month and a half lexi has started attacking Cooper for no reason at all. Lexi has never had a problem with cooper before, even when lexi had her first litter of puppies about 6 months ago. Now for about the last month it has gotten really bad. If i go to pet cooper lexi attacks her. I take lexi for a walk then cooper next, when we get back she attacks her. If i call cooper lexi attacks her. I show each of them the same amount of attention. the only thing that has happen in the last month is cooper had her first heat and lexi when into heat too at the same time. They are both out of heat now and are still acting the same way. I just want to know if anyone else has had this problem and how to correct it. i usually put lexi in her crate when she attacks cooper. Cooper usually just lays down very scared when lexi attacks her she does not antagonize or fight back even though she is a bigger yorkie than lexi but that is just her calm side as i mentioned earlier. I really love my girls and don't want to give either of them away. they are like my children but i can not continue to allow lexi to attack cooper. Hopefully i have given enough details here. I am hoping for some helpful advise and not criticism here please. thank you very much in advance.

| Let them do things like a pack. Take "both" for walks........one on each side of you and let them bond again this way. More exercise is definitely needed.

Sounds like she moved from one, your males in the household, to your other dog. I know there have been alot of people on here who have had to deal with this and can shed some light on why she is like that.It will be hard if she turns poor cooper into a scared little pup, and she shouldnt have to be scared in her own home. Maybe she needs to be in another room for now when your with coop. Does Lexi like her crate? If so she may not be associating being put in a time out with being put in her crate. She may need to know she is being punished for bad behavior so putting her somewhere she wouldnt want to be might help..Im sorry your going through this...it must be so hard on you

I am not an expert on fighting Yorkies....but I can tell you this....if you have an intact male and two intact females in the house, you will have "position" issues....Alpha establishing herself as Alpha.....and she may not ever relent, even when established. You can nopt safely ever leave those 2 females alone, together, unsupervised.....they will fight to the death.....and if you get another intact female thrown into the mix, two will gang up on the low man on the totem pole and they will kill her.

I will definitely give the walking both girls at the same time a try and yes lexi does like her house(crate) but didn't think of it that way. I will try something different, not sure what yet but thanks.
