| house stinks I have a 2 1/2 year old male yorkie, He uses potty pads because after 1 year of trying to housebreak him to go outside he did not get it. My question is , I use potty pads and change them 2 times a day, but my house smells like urine. My dog is fixed and is not marking anywhere. I think its the pads I use. Can anyone tell me a pad that has excellent odor control and what they do to control odor? I cant live like this, please help. |

| I use the washable pads from Petsmart, I wash them everyday, sometimes with bleach. I use the Natures miracle pet odor and stain spray to spray everyday if they miss the pad. I also mop the area where the pads are several times a week with a little clorox in the water. Make sure the dogs can't get into the mop water. Sometimes my boys aim bad and have pee on their belly's so I use puppy wipes.

| I change my washable pads three times per day and wash them right away with bleach. If the whole house smells, I would be concerned that your pup is having accidents on the carpet and you don't know it, you can get a black light to check.

| I like them better, they don't blow around, they can't be torn up, they absorb urine better, they are larger, and they create less garbage.

| This is why I use them also. I came home from church one Sunday when I only had 2 Yorkies and it looked like it snowed in my sun room, They had destroyed all the disposable pads.

| Do you use washable pee pads or disposable ones? I use the washable ones and I won't ever go back to the disposable ones. I do think there is more odor with the disposable ones and they don't absorb as much. That was one of the biggest reasons why I switched. The washable ones I change 2-3 times a day and they get washed in detergent and bleach. They come out smelling nice and looking great.

| I use the washable ones also, but I use them in a litterbox. Teddy likes to lift his leg and will miss the pad, but with the box he hits the side. Could your fella be missing the pad?

| Your pup may be peeing where you don't see it.
