It is very sad that you think rubbing your poor 10 week old pups nose in the mess is a way to train him. I just hope that one day when you are old and weak, someone doesn't treat you the same way and rub your nose in your business when you have accidents in your bed. |
All I can add to this is: it's puppy potty, clean it up and get over it. Our current youngest is 7 months old...I caught her tonight starting to squat on the bedroom carpet, pee starting to come out (she's generally very good about the potty pads). I told her no in a firm voice, took her to the potty pad and talked all baby-talk and reminded her potty pad use gets treats. Then I thoroughly cleaned the quarter size pee from the carpet. Then the two year old promptly came over and squatted on the pee pad with her butt hanging half off of it onto the carpet with 1/2 of her pee going on the carpet. She tried to go where she was suppose to - did she know she was 1/2 off the pad, I doubt it...so she got a treat and praise. Then she gave the 7 month old her smug little doggie look. lol Seriously, it's just potty. Too many other things going on in the world to get too worked up over the potty mishaps of small dogs. |
I think you girls need to start a new thread - How to Train a Husband: Yes you can train the unwanted behaviors out of him! |
Try rewarding him with certain favors when he is good, kind of like treats we give our babies. See if that works:D |
I doubt that this is a real member. But it worked to push our buttons and cause a storm of verbage about how we really think a puppy should be trained. We know more today about how to humanely train puppies and children. I know my mother spanked our dog with a newspaper and rubbed its nose in pee. She also put soap in my mouth for telling a lie. God love her she did what she thought would work. Today we should know better. |

Well, I missed this when it was originally posted. I think the OP is an idiot but I have to say I have laughed my butt off with the training your husband posts! You gals are great! What a way to make my Saturday! :) It is really nice to know that all husbands are alike! :D |
Wow! That was a REALLY SHORT membership!! |

Hey Maddiesmommie, have you figured out how to get him to put his dishes in the dishwasher? Rubbing his nose in something or newspaper? What do you think!? :D |
