Colby is still not fully potty-trained but we let him sleep with us during the first week because he cried loudly every night in his crate for hours and we were worried the neighbors would complain(we live in an apt). He did pretty well at first, slept most of the night and no accidents... and we have a high bed so he was too scared to jump off. Once he learned he can jump off the bed, it became a problem because he'd poop/pee in our room. So back to the crate he went. We are in our 3rd-4th week of having him and he only cries a little in his crate and then chills out. Once he is fully potty trained I'll let him sleep w us again because I love cuddling my wittle baby. <3 |
Our little girl sleeps with us most of the time she is crate trained and has never had an accident in our bed. My husband first said no never now he is the one who allowed it the first night which is great for all of us. We get to sleep in again. She stays in bed as long as we want to! She just got spayed & I'm only letting her sleep in there in the morning time now. I'm afraid we would hurt her until she heals up good! |

One thing about the Yorkie breed is that they want to be by you! I have both of my Yorkies in the bed and they are no trouble. They sleep peacefully and do not want to be in a cold crate. I even cover them up at night. Do I spoil my Yorkies? Yes and they love me! |

Our boys sleep with us and have since the first day they came home :) Wouldn't have it any other way! No accidents (knock on wood!) Though, do have to admit that I am seriously contemplating a king size bed now! One has to snuggle up close to either myself or my husband, while the other takes his sleep far more seriously and says his goodnights to us, then, makes his bed down by our feet. Nothing better than waking up to their sweet faces :animal36:animal36 |
Bedtime We had a few accidents at first....hubby was not pleased but now she will whimper to go potty. Our bed is way too high for her to jump on or jump down. Sometimes when we first get into bed she is hyper...it is her time to roughhouse with daddy. I do let her have some chew sticks that stay in the bed for her. She is very spoiled. |
I let Honey sleep with me. She gets under the covers then doesnt wake up until morning and thats so she can go outside and potty. When she comes back in from pottying she gets right back under the covers and go to sleep. |
My husband is always worried about kiki sleeping under the covers mainly at the foot of the bed! I told him she had to be comfortable or she wouldn't stay there |
Well Honey likes really soft blankets and pillows maybey you should try that so you want have to worry about her being under the covers. That is the only way Honey want sleep under the cover. |
Ours used to sleep with us in our bed till he decide that he will growl whenever someone moves or accidentaly touched him. Everytime he growls, we would wake up..so he sleeps in his own bed now by my bed or in his soft collapsible pet house also by my bed. I think he gets better sleep that way and so do we and at any time he needed some love, I can still reach him to pet him to sleep.:D |
Yes, we have always let our yorkies sleep in our bed from day 1. Teeka snuggles right up beside me and that is usually where she stays. Many a nights, I find myself without a pillow because she has take it over! Yorkies are little snuggle bugs and love the warmth and comfort of your bodies. Teeka is now 18 weeks and has not had an accident and sleeps through the night! |
Huey has slept in the bed with us since day 2. He sleeps under the covers curled up against either me or my hubby. He occasionally comes out of the covers if he gets hot, but then burrows back in. He has us trained well. Instead of him working to get under the covers himself (which usually ends up with him between the top sheet & comforter, making him difficult to find in the morning), he walks over whomever is in his way, sits on the pillow and paws at the covers a couple of times & then looks at you until you lift them for him to get in. Yes, he is rotten...but such a cuddlebug!!!! |
I let my morkie and westie-chin sleep with me, but not my three little yorkies. They're so small and I'm scared they'll accidentally fall off the bed and get hurt. So they all sleep together in their doggy bed at the foot of my bed. If I wasn't so paranoid, they would definitely be up there with the rest of us ;) |
Clyde slept with me from night one. He never had an accident on my bed not once. I've never had an issue with him =) ... Dexter slept in a crate at night for the first two weeks to teach him to hold his bladder. It was a miracle that Clyde didn't pee on my bed ... Foster puppies that slept on my bed ALWAYS PEED... and it absolutely ruined a brand new bed (I had to get a new one after only two years!!) After that point I started crate training until my I was positive the pup could hold the bladder without accidents through the night. Now my Yorkies both sleep on my bed .... but they have the option to sleep on their own bed if they want. I guess it is whatever they are in the mood for. |
