One should never reprimand a Yorkie for making a mistake! They see it as 'going potty' is bad, not just where they went potty is bad! Then they will hide it and may not go potty while you watch her.
Take her out every 2 hours, and when she 'goes potty', praise her and give her a treat (praise like she's never heard before, really get into it). She'll learn it's great to go outside to potty! (may even fake it to get a treat, lol)
When she 'gets it', then extend the time to 3 then 4 hours, and so on. And definitely take her out when she first wakes up, after playtime, after a nap, and after mealtimes (twice a day), and just before bedtime. |
