| Bailey can do some tricks but I cant get him to sit up,, he will sit,, and I try to get him to sit up, but he then JUMPS up for the treat?? How do ya get em to sit up? Any advise?

| From sitting position we say up and use a hand signal. We would put them in that postion untill they got it.

| Try holding a treat above him, but no so high that he has to jump up to reach it. Just slightly higher than his head. Maybe you could associate the word "up" with this by saying it everytime you hold the treat above him. Hope this helps |

| Thanx for the insight. I printed out the info from that site,and I guess maybe I am holding the treat up too high,, I'll try holding it closer, maybe with my hand closed around it,,so he wont snatch it...

| This is the first time I am actually writing something. Penny sits up on her own. She just started doing one day. She knows sit and down and up and dance. We call sitting up "sitting pretty". We can't really get her to do it on command though. She usually does it when she wants part of my dinner. She is a year and 7 months. I didn't answer your question though. Maybe your little one will just develop on their own. |
