Help :( Okay, a few months ago we got another puppy, our boy Jack. He is a little devil, lol. He tears up my rugs, he potty's in the house, and he has this disgusting habit of eating poop when we are outside. We try to pick up all the poops we can when they happen, but he seems to keep finding them. He also wont listen to commands, though he knows a few. He will not respond to stay when we are outside. Are there any good books you guys can recommend for training puppies? Our other dog, Baylee, never had these problems. Also, any advice on the poop eating? Its really nasty :(:thumbdown |
You need to call upon the Poop Guru, megansmomma, for help with this problem. She even cured my Teddy. I'll tell her you need her... |

http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...pecialist.html You really need to get his potty issues under control both inside and outside of your house. How old is he and how have you been trying to address his potty training issues. If he is eating poop outside you need to really clean up your yard and start from scratch. Start the pineapple therapy from the link about first thing tomorrow. When you take him in the yard for potty make sure that he is staying focused on the task at hand. Outside for only a few minutes at a time for him to do his business and then back in the house. He either needs to be put back in his crate or tethered to your side between potty breaks. If he does potty you can allow a short play time but them he needs to be put back on task. |
I feel your pain! My puppy Furgie will eat her poop sometimes as well...my vet told me to try sprinkling hot sauce on the poop and let her eat it...I did try that and it was sad to watch....she spazzed for at least 2 min straight. She didn't go near her poop for a while, but has started back up again. The other suggestion was to sprinkle meat tenderizer on her food...when she goes to eat her poop it will taste really bad. I will be picking some up tomorrow! Good luck! |
