| 2yo "goes" outside, however.... So my 2 yo rescue yorkie, Tilly, knows to go outside. That's not a problem. The problem is that she will also go in the house. How do I teach her that she has to 'ask' to go out? Is there a way to teach them to ask to go out? Thanks |

| I have read here that some people use doggy door bells and some use simple bells or wind chimes that are hung on the door handle. Train the dog by taking her outside at regular intervals and ring the bell with her paw each time you exit. Use a keyword or phrase like "potty time" and make it sound like lots of fun. Go outside with her and when she does her business, praise her profusely, "good potty!", and giver her a treat. There are a few threads in this section about potty bells. |
